Country or City Boy?

This weekend was all about Zach. ; ) I love where we live because it's close enough to the "city" but feels like the country. Many of our neighbors have gardens, breed cattle, and raise turkeys or chickens. One neighbor told me recently there used to be a pot bellied pig roaming around. What!? I really hope I do not run into one. What would I do with a pig?

Anyway, we hopped on our four wheeler and went to see all of our neighbors' new baby animals.

Zach says, "Booooo" instead of "Moooo." It's pretty cute.

Please let me explain this picture. A neighbor just received a shipment of 55, 000 baby chickens. Oh, yes. Zach didn't know quite what to think. To him, "duck ducks" were everywhere. ; )
All the little fluffy chics
This little guy was five hours old. A little wobbly on the legs. I was actually more concerned with the mama because she looked like she was about to charge us. I told her we were nice people and not going to hurt her baby. ; ) Then we quickly drove away.
Zach finished off his weekend by swimming and eating goldfish at the pool. Does it get any better than this in his simple world?

Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.

Psalm 116:7

So cute! It's nice to be close to the country. Many people in my family have small (a couple of large) farms so we can check out babies. Glad you had a good weekend.

Love the pictures! Reminds me of where I live. The chick remind me of that I Love Lucy episode when they lived in the country and they were going to raise chickens...HA! (if you're a fan, you'll know what I'm talking about)
Zach is very handsome! Your family has been in my prayers. :)!

Baby chickens, swimming and goldfish, no, for a boy his age, it doesn't get any better than that.

Katie-

I appreciate your kind words more than you will ever know. You are amazing. I keep you in my thoughts and prayers often.

Zach is adoreable. I heart the country! We are moving out of our house on the golf couse to the country. We bought 23 acres! Lots of animals!

I'm voting for country boy - a four-wheeler and fishing pole are all he'll need. :) I'm hoping he can make some trips to my dad's farm in the future. So, I think you need to "borrow" a couple of those cute chicks to keep at your house - wouldn't it keep Zach busy running after them??

I love the new look and the family picture! The picture of Reese is absolutely breathtaking! Still praying immensly for you. I wanted to share with you about a song that resonates thru me and helped me thru a lot of sleepless nights and tears. It's called "Held", by Natalie Grant. You might know of it already, but the words are remarkable. I hope it helps you also.

Kate, You don't know me. My name is Crista and I recently lost my son Joshua Alan, after three days of life. He was born June 3, 2009. He was my husband and my first child. We too place all our faith an trust in Christ, even in the darkest weakest moments. I want you to know that I will be praying for you and your family. For the days that you wish you had a sign on your back so people would be extra nice to you. And the days that God's joy breaks through moments of sorrow. I am not close to healed, God is working inside me to a place of wholeness. But I know that the plans he has for me are good, for you and your family are good. May your strength be renewed and your life be blessed.
