Zisms

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday!

I love that a sweet reader called Zach's little sayings "Zisms." So I'm just going with it. ; )

A few more funny things he is saying these days...
"Mom, is it 15 days or 1000 days before Christmas?

"For shizzle, Mom."
"Mom, why don't Gran or Bunny have any kids?"

Me: "Zach, do you want to be a pilot when you grow up?"
Z: "Being a grown-up is not any fun. I just always want to be me!"
Jason:"Zach, what part of hitting Colson did you think was a good idea?"
Z: "I didn't think it was a good idea."
"Mom, you need your back rubbed."
Me: "Zach, please pick up the toys you just got out."
Z: "But mom, I'm worned out."

These boys wear me out, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

May the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way.

Tuesday

I love days like today when everything just falls into place. It doesn't happen very often! Not that everything is all together (not gonna happen!)...I'm still not unpacked from our lake weekend, but that's somehow ok. Priorities, right? There's always tomorrow!

1. I got up early to work out. I'm trying to do this at least once a week this summer so I don't get out of the habit. It's too easy for me to do. ; )

2. Zach, Colson and I met Shannon and some other friends this morning at Boingo Bounce. The boys bounced themselves silly.

3. One of my best friends (and college roomies) dropped by today with her hubby and three precious girls on their way home.
Zach, Rachel & Anna
Lots of popsicles at our house!
It was fun watching our kids play together. Zach is so different around girls. Quiet and shy. I don't see this side of him very often. ; )
This girl made my day. Love her.

4. BOTH boys napped this afternoon!

So thankful for new days and visits with friends.

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

Lake Weekend

We flew to Jason's grandparents' lake house this weekend. It was crazy and fun. Never a dull moment!
Our "co-pilot" slept on the way there, but he said he was just "resting his eyes." Ha!

It was a smooth short flight.
Jason's birthday was Friday so we celebrated with a chocolate cake and a vanilla cake and ice cream. ; ) Love you, babe.
Shannon, Reagan, Trish, me, and Jessica
Westin likes to show his "funny faces." For some reason I always think he is so much older than Colson. I wonder if that will ever change.
Colson eating his fifth a chocolate chip cookie.
Love his face! He's just getting so big.
My other little love
This is my world. ; )
The boys loved tubing. This was Colson's first time to go, and he just smiled and laughed.
Thank you, Lord, for the beautiful weather. Thank you for our families. Thank you for the freedom to celebrate.

But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." My times are in Your hand...

Our New Pet

Zach found a little beetle the other day. Later when I asked him where it was he told me he put it on his racetrack. Of course!
I was thankful at least it was contained!
Yes, Zach does point (very innocently) with his middle finger. Always has.
; )
He tries to tell me bugs are ok, but I will never get used to them. I just can't do bugs, and I'm really ok with this.
Goodness me.

Ya'll have a wonderful weekend!

LORD, be gracious to us! We wait for You. Be our strength every morning...

Love Him

Did somebody say cupcake?
Oh yeah!

The LORD is good to all: and His tender mercies are over all His works.

It's Summer!

Colson and Zach have had such a fun year at school. They both have learned so much and done the neatest things. Today was their last day which (according to Zach) means it's summer!
He helped me make cupcakes for his class party. He had each one picked out for his friends and teachers. ; )
The boys also helped me pick out their teachers' gifts. Well, sort of. ; ) I tried to think of something I would like, so I bought some small ivy plants and Sonic giftcards.
I was so happy when I found the little signs at Target. They were only 30 cents each!
Colson's teachers Ms. Heather, Ms. Rachel, and Ms. Darlene
Z's teachers Ms. Kim and Ms. Carrie

We have LOVED the boys' teachers. Sweet Godly women. So thankful for them.
Ah, Peanut. Zach wanted nothing to do with her on the first day of school, and then they became best friends. Of course! Too cute.

Let your love, God, shape my life with salvation, exactly as You promised...

Cradled

I would like to share an amazing resource with ya'll. It's called Cradled, and my sweet friend Rachelle has been working with a few other women to get this up and running. Cradled is a support system that exists "for women and families experiencing miscarriage, stillbirth, early infant loss, and infertility."

Rachelle has a daughter Grace who is in Heaven, and she has such a sensitive heart to other moms faced with losing a child. Cradled offer encouragement, support groups and certain services to those in Central Texas. I'm so thankful for "safe places" like this for moms who have babies in Heaven.

I'm also linking up with Tesha's Treasures today. She does an amazing job connecting moms to encourage and love on one another. Thank you, Tesha!

Don't forget to enter the Picky Sticky giveaway. I'll announce the winner tomorrow night. ; )

...you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse.

Mother's Day 2012

Happy Mother's Day!

Love you mom, and love you Trish!
My sweet Dad sent me these beautiful roses, and the boys gave me a pink butterfly bush. I'm a lucky mama. ; ) I can't wait to see all the butterflies.
Another little treat was seeing one of my Baylor roommates Rebekah and her little Mitchell. They were in town for the weekend, and we got to hang out all Friday afternoon. Loved every second.
This is what makes my Mother's Day the best day ever. I am so in love with my husband and adore our boys.
Shannon and Cody dedicated Reagan in church this morning. She did great!
G-Daddy and Gran with their hands full. ; )
We grilled out at Shannon's for lunch, and she made these yummy cupcakes. Aren't the toppers cute?

I hope today is special if you're a mom or if you're still waiting for GOD's timing for you to be one. Keep believing. He is faithful.

I'm going to wait until tomorrow to do Colson's 22 month Picky Sticky giveaway. ; )

But You, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
