2010

Jason, Zach, and I brought in the new year at his grandparents' lake house. We spent several days there this week with his family. It was a relaxing time (for the women at least), but as always I can't help but think (especially during "down" times) that Reese should be right here with us. What I would give to instantly heal this pain that leaves me breathless.

Zach with Gran & G-Daddy
The men busy at work...there is always some work to be done at the farm.
Zach kept saying, "More, more!" on the four wheeler.

Grampie & Grammie with Z
Jason and I went to a movie last night. I love our little date nights. Thanks Gran and G-Daddy for watching Z. ; )

Yesterday I was thinking how the last day of the year was slipping right through my fingers - not that I would have done anything about it if I could. Reese is coming right with us into the new year, so I don't feel as if we are leaving her behind. I'm so thankful GOD does not leave me hopeless. Thank you for hoping and praying for us, too.

I will repay you for the years that the swarming locusts ate, the young locust, the destroying locust, and the devouring locust...

You will praise the name of Yahweh your GOD, who has dealt wondrously with you.

You will know that I am present...and there is no other.

Joel 2:25 - 27

I'm glad you had the chance to relax at the lake house (hopefully?) and sweet time alone with Jason. Oh dear friend, I know the pain is still so tender. God is holding you, and Reese will never be far from our thoughts. You are loved. Let's press on together in 2010!

What I wouldn't give for that pain to be gone from you too...I wish none of us had to go through this. I'm glad you had a restful time with your family, and that you were able to have some time to think about Reese too. I'm glad you got a date night in too. Those are precious. None of us will forget Reese, or Madison, or any of the others God has taken from us...we'll "hold hands" through 2010 and keep plugging away toward eternity. Happy New Year Katie...God will never leave you, nor forsake you, and as I can attest, He WILL restore the years the swarming locusts have eaten. That is our family promise, and it has already rung true for us!

Much love to you,

Kathryn

Love the verses you chose to share to start the new year. So many many prayers have been offered up on your behalf that He would restore your joy. I know His promises will come to be. I love you much. Keep keepin' and we will keep prayin'. Reese is always on our hearts and in our thoughts.

Hi Katie, I just found your beautiful blog--though I'm not sure how! I think through Shannon, but I'm not sure how I found her today! I just spent an hour pouring over your posts from the last several months. Your boys are beautiful, your Reese is such a tender little shoot. What a treasure God gave you in her sweet life. I know your story will stay with my heart and every time the Lord brings you to mind I will be praying.

Nothing better than a date night! I love when the MIL watches Kelcee so we can go to dinner and a movie! What did you go see?
Hope you had a Happy New Year :0)

strangest thing was that I kind of felt the same way about leaving 09 behind. I know it didn't mean much but it made me sad to leave this precious year! Praying for you still!

Glad you got to be around such great family. Dates are good, too! Hope that was fun. Yes, Reese should have been with you and would have loved it. That is just a fact. You will always miss her dearly, but I know from all I have seen that you have a great support system to help ease the pain somewhat. Maybe there will be another little blessing in 2010 ;) Keep your sweet head up!

We hate it that we missed you guys while we were back home. We did drive out in your neighborhood, and I LOVE it out there. Tell Jason that I'm ready to buy a lot, but I need a pool! Kyle thinks you guys should put in the pool, and we will buy some other, easy to maintain, toys for the kids :) I saw Reese's trees, and it will be so fun watching them grow. Happy New Year!
