A Little More Christmas

I know Christmas is over, but I wanted to share a few more sweet pictures.

This ornament was a gift from the funeral home we used for Reese. They had a tree filled with ornaments with loved ones' names who passed away this year.
My mother in law Trish placed this ornament in Reese's stocking at her house. It's so dainty and perfect.

Meredith put this one in Reese's stocking at my mom's house. My six year old niece Allie came over to me Christmas morning and whispered, "See, Katie, Santa even brought something for Reese." I was so surprised when she said this. Her heart is so tender and young.
A new friend of mine who has a daughter in Heaven sent this ornament to me. She has one just like it for her Emma.
My sister Mandy put a bracelet like this in Reese's stocking for me at my mom's house. This is the one she gave us for Reese, and we chose to bury her with it on her wrist.
Stockings at our house
What Christmas is complete without a Snuggie? Random, I know. ; )

My friend Jessica took this picture of Reese's marker in the snow on Christmas day. Her handsome son Wyatt is buried at the same memorial gardens, and I always look over at him as I pass by to see Reese's garden.
This is today. Snow snow and more snow. Is it spring yet!? ; )

When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true:
"Death has been swallowed up in victory."

"Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?"

I Corinthians 15:54-55

That has been one of my favorite verses for quite some time now. It is so good to have the visual and tangible reminder that the sting of death we feel in this life doesn't hold a candle to the victory we have over death through our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. Even amidst the heartache in this world, we are truly blessed ~ a HOPE and a FUTURE ~ praise God! Keep clinging. He's got you.

And such beautiful ornaments given to you by such beautiful hearts. What a precious girl and a precious momma, who by surrendering to HIS will have and continue to touch so many lives for HIM.

"...when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men to Myself." ~ John 12:32 ~Keep lifting Him up, Katie.

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." ~
2 Corinthians 4:16-18

With love and as always, praying ~

Katie, though I haven't been leaving a lot of comments on your posts, I want you to know that I am continuing to pray for you....

My heart is just so full for you and I have so much to say, and it's so hard to sort out what I should say, what I want to say, and all.....

But know that I continue to pray for you in my little corner of the Pacific Northwest.

Such beautiful ornaments for your sweet baby girl. I love that you have a stocking hung for her at each house. I told Alex that I'm always ready for spring as soon as Christmas is over. He reminded me that the 1st day of winter is Dec 21st! :)

The ornaments are just beautiful! I love the one from your mother in law. I thought what you wrote in your last post -- "What I would give to instantly heal this pain that leaves me breathless" was such good description and I am continuing to pray that God would bring comfort to your pain. love, Susie

I love that Reese is still very much apart of your lives and remembered and celebrated by all. I am in absolute aw of the strength God has poured into your sweet soul. As I read this blog tonight, my heart ached for you...for I know how much you would have loved to have had Reese IN your arms this holiday season. I type this as I look over at my 6 month old little girl sleeping on the video monitor and can't imagine losing her so young. Reese is one special baby girl and is smiling down at you, her loving mama, daddy and big brother!

I laughed out loud (literally) at the Snuggie picture. Uncle John just makes me laugh. Ha. Mom gave Michelle a pink Snuggie and me a Razorback Snuggie for Christmas. If nothing else, I love how soft it is! :)

Katie,
Somehow I stumbled unto your blog a couple days ago and spent an hour reading your story about your beautiful Reese.
I am without words. I wish I had some profound words to comfort you (even though I don't know you). But, I can and will pray that the only ONE who can(Jesus Christ) will continue to heal your broken heart. I don't know if you ever "get over" something like this, but I do believe that one day it won't hurt so bad. Or at the very least, you will at some point, with God's healing, have some "better" days.
If you don't mind, i'd like to forward your blog to my small group. They are a wonderful group of praying ladies.
Your sister in Christ,
Sarah (Ella's mom)
