August

This is a big month for us.

It marks Reese's one year birthday and one year she has been with Jesus. After she went to Heaven part of me wanted to hurry through this year of "firsts" without her while the other part wanted time to stand still. With each passing day I felt like I was getting further and further away from her.

Now I know I'm getting closer and closer to seeing her every day.
Isn't this name gallery picture wonderful? I've been saving it for her birthday month.
I love this little necklace! I've had my eye on it for months, so when the store still had it recently I knew it was meant to be. ; ) Reese would like it, too.

Even while laughing a heart can ache...

You could never be far from Reese, Katie! Hugs to you and your little family as you celebrate your baby Reese, her life, her ascent to Jesus and her reunion with you one day. God bless....

Katie - The days leading up to Reese's birthday may prove more difficult than the actual day itself.

You are right. Soon you will be re-united and what a day that will be!! We are after all, just tourists here on earth. Reese is the one that is actually 'Home'.

This is a God story for you - my friend named Katie had a baby girl on August 1 (yesterday) and guess what she named her...Reece! When I connected the dots, I knew it wasn't coincidental. ;)

I have been thinking about you guys a ton. I know exactly what you mean about getting through that first year. I had days I felt like time had stopped and I was just sitting here all alone without my baby. Mamie had her 1st year in Heaven on June 25th and it was a wonderful weekend. The days leading up were not at all but that weekend I found myself calm and peaceful. I felt like I could actually take a breath. I remember so well this time last year hearing about your precious Reese. You are such an inspiration to me and other mothers going through this horrible loss. I have never met you I don't think but we mothers that have experienced this pain have a connection like no other. Sending lots of love and prayers your way.

I am praying especially for you & Jason as Reese's birthday approaches. I love the necklace - I have one with some of Emma's ashes in it (that no one would know unless I tell them) and those "quiet keepsakes" as I refer them too are so important. Something that keeps your sweet girl close to your heart.

Love you girl & always praying!!

Katie,

I am blessed by your comment, "Reese would like it, too," because it reminds me she is alive, with "a soul that can never die", as we say in our catechism at school. I believe you will see her soon, as God counts time, and marvel and rejoice with her in the faithfulness and grace of our Lord. Thank you for continuing to write.

I'm praying for you and love you so much.

Ms. B.
