Random Wednesday

1. YES there was spam in some of the food at the tournament. Oh my. Let's just say I dug into the seven layer dip only to find out that spam was one of the layers. ; ) Ahhh! That was the first and last time I've tried it. Thankfully, there was lots of good food without it.
2. This is what happens when Colson gets a hold of the light/fan remote. Not good. Boys are so destructive! Thank goodness he's so cute.
3. If you don't have one of these squirt bottles, you need one. For each child. They are $1 at Target, and the best $2 I've spent lately. ; ) I just tell the boys to go on the back deck and have a good time. Of course you will get wet in the process, but it's just part of the fun.

4. I used to feel so sorry when I saw someone eating alone at a restaurant. Then Jason would tell me he grabs a quick bite sometimes when he's working, and I just hated thinking of him eating alone (even though it's no big deal to him). Now sometimes when I'm out running errands and have a sitter for the boys, I'll stop in Panera with my computer and eat lunch by myself. It's so nice! I get it now. ; )
5. I love when the bug man comes to our house. We always have a spider issue in the spring/summer, so he's my best friend right now. Anyway, Z loves to "help" him and is entertained for at least 30 minutes. It's great!

Happy Wednesday!

Put your face in the sunlight...the LORD will shine over you.

Spam Slam

About the blog books...mine have averaged around $100 each. It just depends on how many posts/pages you want. There are options to make it more condensed, and you can also print out comments. It's easy to do and doesn't take a whole lot of time. My blog signature gives me trouble, so I have to tweak it a bit so that takes most of my time. ; )

This weekend was Spam Slam. Oh yeah! It's a tennis tournament with Spam as it's main sponsor. Isn't that funny?
It's a big tournament in NWA. They served every meal and had tons of snacks!

the goody bag
Jason played singles and made it to the semi-finals.
He just started playing in December and was the #1 Seed 3.0 going into this weekend. So proud of him. ; )
Me with our friend Mariko

She is an amazing tennis player. I like to ask her questions hoping maybe some of her talent will rub off on me. ; )
Jason and I played mixed doubles. It was our first time to play together. I loved it, but I'm sure I just kill him. He says I need to work on my reflexes (which have never been great), but to me I'm moving fast! Ha. There were no fights, though and he said he would play with me again, thank goodness.
Sweet friends Marty and Cindy

Cindy is the captain of my team, and Jason and Marty are on the same men's team.

The boys stayed with Jason's parents since we knew we would be at the tournament the entire time. We also stayed in a hotel close by. I'm so glad we did because we played until 11 pm Saturday night, and Jason played again at 8 yesterday morning. Crazy!

If there is something out there that you've always wanted to try, then go for it! I'm so glad I did. It's never too late and you don't know what the LORD will have just for you.

Hope your weekend was wonderful, and if it wasn't it's a new day. ; )

There is no room in love for fear.

Big Day & Blog Book

I've been SO SO SO EXCITED to share about my sweet new nephew David. My brother and sis-in-law Meredith brought home their new son from South Korea today. We have waited for this day a long time, and he's finally here!

He is one week older than Colson, and I can't wait to meet him and see those two together. She has blogged all about their experience this past week if you're curious. ; ) Welcome home, David!

I also just received my 2011 blog book from blog2print. I love it!
I know, I know, it's June right? Ha! I had to make a few changes so it's been a work in progress.
These are all of my books printed out since I began blogging in March '08. Zach was about four months old. That seems like forever ago!
They just keep getting longer and longer. ; )
The layout is clean and simple. There are a few options for your pages, but I like it as close to how my blog looks as I can get.
It's amazing to look back. Hopefully one day our boys will read about their lives when they were young and all the changes we've been through. All the experiences we've faced. I want them to know all about their sister, and how what they are doing now keeps me moving forward. And just maybe they will better understand me, too.

I'm so thankful you're a part of our journey!

You can be sure that God will take care of everything you need, His generosity exceeding even yours in the glory that pours from Jesus.

Zisms

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday!

I love that a sweet reader called Zach's little sayings "Zisms." So I'm just going with it. ; )

A few more funny things he is saying these days...
"Mom, is it 15 days or 1000 days before Christmas?

"For shizzle, Mom."
"Mom, why don't Gran or Bunny have any kids?"

Me: "Zach, do you want to be a pilot when you grow up?"
Z: "Being a grown-up is not any fun. I just always want to be me!"
Jason:"Zach, what part of hitting Colson did you think was a good idea?"
Z: "I didn't think it was a good idea."
"Mom, you need your back rubbed."
Me: "Zach, please pick up the toys you just got out."
Z: "But mom, I'm worned out."

These boys wear me out, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

May the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way.

Tuesday

I love days like today when everything just falls into place. It doesn't happen very often! Not that everything is all together (not gonna happen!)...I'm still not unpacked from our lake weekend, but that's somehow ok. Priorities, right? There's always tomorrow!

1. I got up early to work out. I'm trying to do this at least once a week this summer so I don't get out of the habit. It's too easy for me to do. ; )

2. Zach, Colson and I met Shannon and some other friends this morning at Boingo Bounce. The boys bounced themselves silly.

3. One of my best friends (and college roomies) dropped by today with her hubby and three precious girls on their way home.
Zach, Rachel & Anna
Lots of popsicles at our house!
It was fun watching our kids play together. Zach is so different around girls. Quiet and shy. I don't see this side of him very often. ; )
This girl made my day. Love her.

4. BOTH boys napped this afternoon!

So thankful for new days and visits with friends.

Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

Lake Weekend

We flew to Jason's grandparents' lake house this weekend. It was crazy and fun. Never a dull moment!
Our "co-pilot" slept on the way there, but he said he was just "resting his eyes." Ha!

It was a smooth short flight.
Jason's birthday was Friday so we celebrated with a chocolate cake and a vanilla cake and ice cream. ; ) Love you, babe.
Shannon, Reagan, Trish, me, and Jessica
Westin likes to show his "funny faces." For some reason I always think he is so much older than Colson. I wonder if that will ever change.
Colson eating his fifth a chocolate chip cookie.
Love his face! He's just getting so big.
My other little love
This is my world. ; )
The boys loved tubing. This was Colson's first time to go, and he just smiled and laughed.
Thank you, Lord, for the beautiful weather. Thank you for our families. Thank you for the freedom to celebrate.

But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." My times are in Your hand...

Our New Pet

Zach found a little beetle the other day. Later when I asked him where it was he told me he put it on his racetrack. Of course!
I was thankful at least it was contained!
Yes, Zach does point (very innocently) with his middle finger. Always has.
; )
He tries to tell me bugs are ok, but I will never get used to them. I just can't do bugs, and I'm really ok with this.
Goodness me.

Ya'll have a wonderful weekend!

LORD, be gracious to us! We wait for You. Be our strength every morning...
