These pictures are priceless. The one with Zach and his grandmother carrying all the balloons just brought tears to my eyes. I wish he didn't have to do it, but he's SUCH a good big brother. And Colson's a great little brother, too, of course :)

I just found your blog. I went through and read post after post during your pregnancy and right after she was born. I've been going through a little bit of a rough time lately and the words and verses you posted in your greatest time of grief have touched me immensely and strengthened my faith in the Lord. Amazing how after all this time God is still using Reese to help people. I am one of them. And I cannot explain how grateful I am.

My baby girl Melissa has been in Heaven for 22 years. We have celebrated every birthday. I started a support group ten years ago for parents who have lost a baby. Our little girls will make a difference for a very long time. My heart is with you today.

I love what you said that she has touched our lives forever and we will never be the same, that is so true for you and your family and all of us who have read your story! Katie, these pictures brought tears to my eyes. What a beautiful way to celebrate your sweet Reese. I am smiling now thinking of how happy she was when she watched those balloons rise to greet her in Heaven, especially those three red ones. I am praying for your heart and for your family as Reese is such an integral part of their lives, among countless others. Your boys are so special to have such an amazing sister watching over them, and she is watching over you and Jason, too.
I have been so moved time and time again and your story has helped me cope with our own sadness of having lost our babies. As Michael and Elijah's due date approached, a friend who saw me upset comforted me when she said to think about how lucky they are. At first I didn't understand, because lucky wasn't the word I would have chosen. As she went on, she said "they will never know pain like you are feeling now. They will never know sadness, loneliness, heartache. They will only know unconditional love, and you gave that to them. "
I want to encourage you by sharing that I'm so sorry you're feeling such heartache and pain. I wish I could understand why, but only God knows. What I am thankful for is that Reese will never know those feelings. She will only know the pure, unconditional love given by you and your family and everyone she touches. And when you are together again, I believe you will not feel those feelings, either.
