Sometimes I get the itch to change something in my house, and once it starts I'm on a mission to make things happen. ; )
Jason and I bought two lamps like this ten years ago when we moved into our first house, and it was time for them to go. They were driving me crazy, so I began my search this summer. I had an idea of what I wanted but couldn't find the right shade with the right base.
Yes, that is Woody and Jesse in the glass lantern. Z finds the funniest places for his toys!
I finally found two I liked at Kirklands! I thought the shade looked kind of unproportional with the base, but Shannon convinced me that's how it was supposed to be. ; ) I love how they look!
I also had a picture and our "Rowe family rules" I wanted to frame, so Jason's dad made me two large wooden frames.
I used paint we already had for our house. One red and one a grayish tan.
I used three coats of red paint and two coats for the tan.
It was fun painting them, but of course I had the easy part!
The last thing I wanted to share is a picture of Reese's feet someone sent us. She called it "counted crosstitch." Isn't it amazing? It's difficult to tell from this picture, but the work she put into this is unbelievable. GOD uses people in the mightiest of ways!
Zach has his first flag football practice tonight. Wish us luck. ; )
For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with goodness...

I love the changes!! The lamps look so good. They add warmth. I think I need one somewhere. =) The frames look awesome and I love your house rules.
Hope flag football practice goes well for Zach. My Cooper is starting that next week. Should be fun!!
Looooove the new lamp, Katie!! Shannon gives great design advice. :) And I'm so amazed at the crosstitch piece done of Reece's feet. From someone who knows how to crosstitch, I can definitely vouch for the amount of time and work it took to do that. It's beau-tiful!!!! What an awesome gift!
Beautiful feet.
I love the cross stitch. What a wonderful ministry!
Love your new picture frames! It's so fun to add pretty and colorful things to your home and know that you hand a hand in creating them! I am so in love with the cross stitch of those beautiful little feet! Isn't it amazing some of the talent that God gives some people?

I love the chunkiness of those picture frames. And what a beautiful gift that you were blessed with in that cross-stitched picture,
Wow that's AMAZING!
that cross stitch is incredible-- what a treasure for you!
Love the frames. And I'm so jealous Zach is in flag football... we still have to wait 2 years for Brayden, who is already asking when he can start :)
I love your family rules!! I want to either be in your family or use them for mine!! Ha!! Great job!
LOVE it ALL!!!!!!!
Love the lamp, and it's amazing what you can do with a plain picture frame and paint. And you know spray paint works beautifully on these as well!! Oh and TJ Maxx and Marshall's usually have the most awesome lamps ever, and usually very inexpensive. Love those places!!
Wow that crosstich of Reese's precious little feet looks so awesome I thought it was a picture! How very sweet of the person who sent that to you! I know you will treasure it always! I love your DIY project and I may have to borrow lol, your idea of the rules and frame them, that is just to awesome, you should put that on Pinterest! Shannon is so right girl those lamps are perfection and that is how they are supposed to look! They look amazing, but I must say I really like woody in the lamp thingy ha!
