Fall Flowers

When I drive the boys through the Memorial Gardens we always pass the pond first to see the ducks and sometimes turtles.
It's fun to see the turtles sunbathing on the rocks, and Z usually likes to scare them by yelling. A boy thing, I guess?
They didn't seem phased when we went this week. ; )
Z helped me with Reese's new flowers for the first time. He took it very seriously. It was so special doing this with him! I look forward to involving the boys with things we do to honor their sister.
Such a sweet big brother.

It's crazy to think that Z will probably have no memory of when Reese was born. He won't remember seeing her or kissing her. Or smashing a bow on her head. ; )

When I think about our family I don't see just the boys, Jason, and me. I see the five of us. I want Zach and Colson to see her, too.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God..."

Psalm 46:10

I think you are doing a great job honoring her and your boys will too!
The fall arrangement is beautiful just like Reese!! Love that Zach was part of it!

I think that they see her in ways that we can't as adults, as parents. I think of her being a little butterfly or fairy that is always on their shoulder whispering sweet words into their ears or providing hope when they are having a rough time with whatever is going on. Oh I can't explain it well but I think of your children often and this is how I envision them to be.

Thank you for sharing this part of your life and journey with us! I love, love the autumn flowers. Katie, I think your boys will always know you are a family of five because you do so much to honor Reese's memory alive in your family and home. They will know she lives on in all of your hearts always. God bless your beautiful family. Much love and enjoy autumn as the season begins! Love Laurie

I definitely think of you as a family of five! And to be honest, Miss Reese is usually who I think of first when I think of y'all. She (and y'all) are always near in my heart/ mind. Z might not always remember being with Reese but he will remember the stories you tell about her and he'll remember the ways you honor her.

Everytime I come to your blog I well up with tears. I see you as a family of 5 too, and I look at her picture, and she is just so perfect. I can't believe she is not here on earth, and she wasn't even my baby. I grieve your loss with you. I like how you honor her. It is so sweet. {{HUGS}}

I see all 5 of you all the time, too, and yet have never even met you. You truly are such a blessing to me, in more ways than I ever would have expected. I am still amazed that after reading your blog the past 2+ years, that I am fixing to have to let go of our baby girl and feel so much of the pain you have felt with Reese. I still can not begin to fathom what is to come, but I pray that I will somehow manage to face it with such tremendous grace as you did and still do. Thanks for being a blessing to me.
