Monday

Thank you all for your sweet words about our boys. We do have such joy in our home. They are everything to us, and I will always wonder what it would be like to have Reese with us, too. Zach asked me the other night where her bathtub was. I love how naturally he talks about her.

Friday night we went out to eat as a family. Probably the very first time with both boys. Ha! Z told us he wanted to go to Target for dinner to get popcorn and an icee. Silly boy, I have no idea where he gets this from. ; )
Saturday Jason and Z had to see just how frozen the pond was. Crazy! Always an adventure around here.
Gran dropped in for a visit, too. She jumped right in (like Z gives her a chance not to). He always has things for his grands to do (and tells them exactly what to do and how to do it!). Thanks for coming to see us, Gran. ; )

I also treated myself to new tennis shoes. I was still wearing the same ones I had when I was pregnant with Reese, so it was time. ; )
I've never had pink running shoes before. Jason and I are training to run in a marathon relay with another couple this spring. I'm excited!

Happy Monday. ; )

Be gracious to me, God,
according to Your faithful love;
according to Your abundant compassion,
blot out my rebellion.

How fun! I ran a half marathon on Thanksgiving day and my sweet husband ran a lot of training runs with me. It was fun to have that way to connect.

Yea Katie! Those look like Mizuno Wave Riders! :) I'll be running that relay too. Hope you can get your runs in with all this crazy weather. It's been hard, with the weather AND sick kids.

Love the pics!
Josh and I are running the Hogeye relay marathon with our friends, Matt and Sara. I hate the Hogeye but Josh said they are changing the course this year. I sure hope he isn't saying that just to convince me to run! :)

Hope that pond was at least frozen 5 inches thick and that you have sustained temps of 32 and below for many many weeks. Ponds are notorious for being very thick close to the bank and then very thin in other places. Also, the pond should be almost white in color to walk on safely and by looking at your pictures, that wasn't the case. We live far far north of you and tell our daughters every winter that our ponds, rivers, etc...are never safe to walk on. Don't mean to be like a "nagging mom", but thought I would pass along the info.

I have stalked for a while but I have never left a comment! I know Cody and Shannon from Conway. We went to Antioch together back in the day!

I love how you all talk about Reese in your daily lives. There was a statement you made once about how you WANT people to talk about her because not talking about her is like pretending she was never there. We recently had to give our foster son of 15 months back to his family and it has been a good three months of healing.

Just this week we had friends over for dinner and their four year old asked where our son was. She was at our house when we had to take him back and the days following. Her parents had talked to her about what happened so she knows but she still misses him. I love that! I love that he is still with us in memories. So many people are afraid to say his name but not the little ones. They love talking about him and looking at his pictures. It blesses my soul. I wish we as adults could remember that child like faith!

Thank you for always being so open and honest. It has blessed me!
