Baby Books

I love Zach's, Reese's and Colson's baby books.

Zach's book

Reese's book

I copy and print out every email I receive about Reese. Her book is already filled with hundreds of pages of encouraging words for us, and this is only from August 11 to December 31, 2009! Amazing. I'll have to get another binder for the rest. ; )

Colson's book

As I completed what I could of Reese's book something hit me as I turned to this page...
Welcome Home

Only the Lord knew this phrase would not signify her earthly home with us. I was never meant to fill those pages in her book. Her "Welcome Home!" was what Jesus said to her as He gathered her in His gentle loving arms.

Without a doubt He said, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

What an example my daughter is for me!

...You have established a stronghold from the mouths of children and nursing infants, to silence the enemy and the avenger.

Psalm 8:2

  2. Wow Katie,
Beautifully written! Touched my heart more than you will ever know! Reese is still making a very big impact on all of us even with her short life here on earth! She will always have a place in my heart! Everytime I see a Creype Mrytle, the color red, or the name Reese I instantly think of her and how she has made a big impact on me and my faith!

I am so glad we have become friends through blogland!

Those books are fantastic! I love the artwork on the front! Where did you get them?

    Always in my prayers

    xoxo

  3. I have the exact same baby book for Hadley. I think it is absolutely precious. If we have a boy this time I want to get the boy version. Where did you find it? I looked @ Swoozie's online (Where I bought Had's), but saw they were going out of business & didn't have it. :-(

  5. What great perspective on her homecoming! This may sound odd, but my 89 year old great grandmother was telling me the other day that she's ready for it all to be over. I feel strangely excited for her. Like she is getting ready to experience the best thing in all of creation.

  14. You are such a beautiful, wonderful mom. Although, I don't know you personally, I know your heart is as beautiful as you are on the outside. Love the precious books. So sweet. I think of your baby girl often and cherish mine a little more because of your wise words. Reese has an amazing purpose for her little life. She has probably touched more lives in her short little stay here on earth than some could ever touch in a long lifetime.

    Blessings,
    Dana :)

  22. Love, love, love all of these books, Katie!

I've been meaning to tell you about something that happened during our church service on Easter Sunday. We were singing and came to the words "the grave is overwhelmed" and you immediately came to mind. I kept thanking God for the fact that the grave IS overwhelmed because THAT makes it possible for you to KNOW that you will be reunited with Reese in heaven.

I pray that during the ups and downs of this journey of grief you will be bathed in a peace that Reese will be waiting for you, Jason, Zach and Colson because He overwhelmed the grave!
