Jason found this trunk at a garage sale before Reese was born, and we love it! It was already pink, so it went perfectly in her room.
Now for Colson...not so much. Jason has been sanding it down, but we can't decide what color to paint it. I am so proud of my hubs for tackling this project. ; )
We're thinking either cream or red? Cream is the safe color, and red would be bold. The red would match the stripe in Colson's bedding, but I just don't know if I can go red (for furniture). ; )
Drawers are on this side.
Guess you'll have to wait and see!
Thank you always for your sweet words. I feel like I have been big for months as I roll off the couch each night and out of bed in the mornings. Jason and I just laugh at my belly. Let's just say his grandfather (who is the NICEST most GENTLE man) compared me to a walrus. It was hilarious.
Then be glad and rejoice forever in what I am creating.

That trunk is gonna be fab! I can't wait to see the finished product so cute! I am with you either color would rock, but you know me I am all about color hince Kelcee's wild hot pink and zebra room ha!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of Jason to do that for you! Greg is getting ready to do the same with Kelcee's dresser I promise it won't be hot pink LOL....
You do look fabulous, you have the cutest little baby bump!
xoxo
SUmmer :)
that trunk is going to be awesome! i love the thought of it going red...but i understand the need to stay safe. =)
ReplyDeletealso, you are one of the most beautiful women i have seen! and you pull of that cute pregnant belly like a champ! so don't you ever think you aren't still gorgeous!
RED :) So you!!
ReplyDeletei would paint it orange..but i'm obsessed!
When you have gained 70 lbs., we'll talk "walrus"! =)
ReplyDeleteI vote red! Your belly is so cute, and boy does Westin resemble Jason. Both handsome, of course! Have a blessed weekend.
ReplyDeleteI think you should go for red! I'm thinking about painting a bookshelf red in my son's room.
ReplyDeleteIt is a cute trunk!!!
I get teased that I get kids the easy way......family services calls and I pick them up at the hospital.....maybe easy to get but you don't get to keep them forever very often.
You look beautiful and I envy your time being pregnant and preparing, I've never had that.
Walrus??!?!?! Missed that one!! Who?
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool trunk. You can do red!! We had Ty's furniture painted Pottery Barn red and it turned out WWWAAAAAYYYYYY cool! Cream would be pretty too. Can't wait to see what color you choose!
ReplyDeleteYou could do an antiqued red so it wouldn't be so bold... just a thought! it's precious though!
ReplyDeleteGo red!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think red too. I agree that if you antique it, it won't be so bold and it will last through more of his stages. All you would have to do is paint it red, sand the edges a bit, and then apply a espresso gel stain or glaze...it would be so striking!!
ReplyDeleteWe're continuing to pray for your precious family!
Love, Anna
Way to go, Jason!!! Kyle has about 2 pages of projects to complete before Baby Johnson gets here! You look amazing, and if Grandad compares you to a walrus, I'd love to show him what a real baby bump looks like! I'm sure he'd compare me to an elephant!!! Hope you guys are doing great!
ReplyDeleteTHe trunk is AWESOME!!! Maybe a distressed red?!!!
ReplyDeleteOk-that is the best garage sale find EVER! If you decide to put it back in a garage sale then I want dibs on it. :)
ReplyDeleteRED!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how it turns out and it's none of my business, but go RED!! Love and prayers from Indy:)
ReplyDeleteThat trunk is AWESOME! I say go Razorback Red!
ReplyDeleteGo RED!!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find! We have a red bookshelf in Bryce's room and I love it, so I say go red!
ReplyDeleteI think red would be fun! I love going bold in a baby's room (although I didn't! Ha!).
ReplyDeleteLove that trunk! I think you should go for bold red!
ReplyDeleteI say dark red, too :) we have a dark red toy bin in the playroom, and I love it :)
ReplyDeletebut either choice sounds good :)
yes--I understand being pregnant 2 years in a row--I just got rid of a bunch of clothes, because it had been so long since I'd worn them and knew it would be awhile until I wear them again with nursing and extra belly :) (I'm 17 weeks pregnant, again!) but it will be fun to get new clothes after that if I get a break :)
you are so tiny and pretty--don't even worry about it!
This trunk is really great!!!
ReplyDeleteI would go red all the way. I am so tired of my plain (white, brown and black furniture).
You look great, Katie! Your belly is adorable! I wish it was me again. ;)
ReplyDeleteI, too, think you ought to go with red for the trunk...but I know whatever color you guys make it, the trunk will be fabulous!
Blessings to you, sweet bloggy friend, and I'm praying for you!
I vote for red, but totally get some tinted primer first (ask me how I know!). BTW, your baby bump in the post below is so cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteI vote red! I painted my son's bookshelf in his room red and also his chest of drawers is red! Added just a pop of color and I love it!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of Jason to do that for you! Greg is getting ready to do the same with Kelcee's dresser I promise it won't be hot pink
