Friends & Winner

I can't tell you all how much I think of you throughout my day. I never imagined the LORD would bring women in my life through blogging who I consider precious friends, but He has! I'm so thankful for you. I haven't been able to visit many of you lately, and I miss you so much! I really do.

The boys are at such fun stages and get most of my attention. I don't want to miss out. ; ) I love each and every second I spend with them. I love learning more about them, watching them play, having real conversations with Zach and practicing with Colson how to say, "Mama." They are my joy and heart.

I hope to catch up soon especially since I ironed three weeks worth of clothes this past weekend. ; ) Seriously. People tell me they don't iron because they buy clothes that don't need ironing. Where do people get these kinds of clothes?!

Okay moving on. ; )

The Picky Sticky winner is # 20 (www.random.org).

Congrats to Blogger2! I'll email you with the details.

Thank you for entering this giveaway!

  1. Katie-
    I don't iron...but I'm probably a bad wife and mother haha.:))
If Scotty really needs a dress shirt ironed, I will. Or occasionally one of my boys nicer polos..but other than that (and that's rare) I just don't do it.
    But..my mom ironed everything..

  2. Yeah! Someone else who irons! I thought it was a lost art among young women. ha ha.

On another note; I have been reading your blog since before your precious Reese was born and cried along with so many when she died. You have been so open and honest with your life, thank you. And your sons are precious! Thanks; a grandma from Minnesota.

  3. I was just thinking today how it's been too long since we've talked. I miss you and have been thinking about you and praying for you all the time - but you know that already, don't you? Love you!

  4. The key to not ironing (although there are certain types of material that just need to be ironed....any like that for me go to the dry-cleaners) is to only remove a few clothes at a time from the dryer and fold or hang right away, while they are still warm. Letting the clothes either cool in the dryer or in a pile on the floor cause all the wrinkles. My washer/dryer are on the 2nd floor (where all the bedrooms are) so it isn't a big deal to keep going back and forth.

  7. My husband use to work at a place where he had to wear dress pants, dress shirts, and a tie. I hated ironing his clothes!! So glad now he doesn't have to dress like that. I couldn't imagine having to still iron so much clothes on top of raising two little ones too.

Do you have any suggestions as what activities you do with a 19 month old and a 30 month old. Were usually homebound a lot... You seem like such a wonderful mother and I am sure you know how to have fun with you little ones. I am running out of ideas.. ha!

  8. Thank you so much for your encouraging and sweet comment!

Can't wait to hear when Colson say Mamma for the first time ; )

And about the ironing: with a husband who wears suit and a tie every single day, needless to say, ironing is a huge chore around here ; )

  14. If you ever find the secret store with the no iron clothes for sale, please share!! All of my hubby's work clothes go to the cleaners but I have to iron most of my stuff and the boys. Their cute little plaid shorts ball up in the dryer and are a pain to iron. It is worth it because they look so darn cute in them.
Anyway, we are doing the most important job ever raising our kiddos. We have to enjoy each stage because it all goes way too fast!

  15. Hi Katie, I hope all is well with you! I can certainly understand about being so busy lately. Things just haven't slowed down lately for us either.

    Take care,

  16. At our last women's retreat, we had a cute skit with an older woman and a younger woman. They were bantering back and forth and the younger woman said, "Hey ____, have you ever seen one of these?" and she held up an iron. :) The younger woman answered, "Oh yeah! I have one of those! Now, if I can just remember where I put it."

I iron, but have learned that many many clothes actually are primarily wrinklefree if you fold them nicely out of the dryer. My husband is a firefighter, though, and his clothes are cared for at the department ... so that leaves very little to iron around here. I have plenty of clothes to iron, but somehow I learned that if I wear a pair of pants for about ten minutes, they actually lose ALL their wrinkles!

  17. Oh, the joys of ironing!!! I think I need to get one of those steamers that one of the ladies mentioned... :)

Thanks so much for your sweet and encouraging comments on my blog. You make me smile!

Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week, and a blessed weekend with your family.

  18. Two words: "Wrinkle Release". It's made by Downy, comes in a blue spray bottle, and has a nice, clean, fresh scent. Best of all, if you follow the directions properly, it really does release the wrinkles.Whether you use it or not, the real secret is getting the clothes out of the dryer just before it stops - give each item a good shake or two, and either lay it flat until you fold it, or hang it up. Depending on the fabric and how special the item is, you may still chose to iron a few things, but I promise you, this method will definitely cut out the majority of your time at the board.
