We finished!
Jason passing the baton (an ankle strap) to Davin
Our team "Chips & Salsa"
Our goal was to finish under four hours, and our final time was 3 hours 50 minutes and 1 second. Stacy ran first, then Jason, Davin, and me. I was so nervous because of all the pressure, but all three of them are really fast so I had some wiggle room. ; )
Tired and relieved. ; )
My dad (he ran the half) & me
My Dad is the whole reason I ever started running. He somehow talked me into my first 5K in the 5th grade and that was the beginning of many more races together throughout my junior high, high school, and college years. Even now (just not as often). Some of my best memories with him are from these races.
I'm so proud of my teammates and will run with them anytime (one in particular is really cute)!
Find rest, O my soul, in GOD alone; my hope comes from Him.
Psalm 62:5

ReplyDeleteWhat a great time! I was there but didn't do any running this time since I am pregnant (and feel pretty awful that early in the morning). I couldn't believe how cold it was! Congratulations...you are such an inspiration!

ReplyDeleteHow fun that y'all ran as a team! Congrats to all four of you! Katie, you are super girl!
ReplyDeleteKatie! I'm so bummed I didn't see you, but of course you were in a totally different spot than I was. I did the half (very casually this year) and had such a blast. It's one of my favorite races. Way to go! I'm doing my first relay at the Hogeye this year. BTW, weren't you freezing in your tank?? :)
ReplyDeleteKatie
YAY!!!! Way to go girl!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's so neat you do things like this! I used to run with my dad when I was younger - I ran track in middle school and high-school, then I QUIT running.. bad choice on my part!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your team name.. I thought it was cute :)
WAY TO GO on beating your time!
I love that you have fond memories with your dad and running. I am hoping to be able to create the same memories for my kiddos some day. Great that you and your hubby have a hobby together :)
ReplyDeleteWhat race will you pick next?
Peace.
Susan
Great job!
ReplyDeleteI did my first 5K two weeks ago and this weekend is my first 10K. I am not to the point I run the whole thing, but I am making progress!
You inspire me so much, not just with your running, but your amazing spirit! I am running my first 1/2 in two weeks (since college), running in honor of my son. You are a beautiful person! I LOVE that you run with your husband & dad!
