Fitting

Our nights are usually the most hectic part of our day...cooking, eating, Jason and I trying to talk about our day (ha!), cleaning the kitchen, baths, putting Colson to bed, a little playtime, persuading Z to go to bed...then crashing! I'm sure it's the same with you at your house, right?

One night during the craziness, Z wanted me to ride his car with him. He was very persistent, so I gave in. Why not? One day he won't be under my feet asking me all these things. So Colson and I hopped on, and it's now a regular event. Somehow we see monsters, race down hills, and end up at a fort. I love how Colson just goes along with us.

Just keeping it real in my comfies. ; ) I have no idea how in the world the three of us fit on Zach's plasma car, but we do!
I treasure these silly times with our boys. It's always worth it to slow down and have some fun...especially during the chaos. So so very thankful for their lives.

Praise the LORD, my soul...who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion...
Psalm 103:1, 4

  1. So cute!! It's so funny to hear what their little imaginations can come up with at this age.

I love riding Brody's plasma car by myself! Ha!

  2. So if that's what you look like when you're "keeping it real", then that's just not fair! ha! so glad you know the value of stopping and taking time to enjoy the little things. wish i had done more of that sooner...but better late than never! (and besides, we've never had a plasma car) and yes...i know all too well about the "witching hour" - that's what i call the time just before supper til just after bedtimes. But you know what? In all these years and with all these kids, nothing I've ever done has changed it, so now I just give in and go with it. It all works out in the end. May as well enjoy it along the way. Love ya, and as always...

  4. Seriously, I don't think on my best day I look as great as you "keeping it real"! :) you are too darn cute on that car.!! Moments like that is what makes being a mommy worth more than gold..

Baths and snuggle times are my favorites too! And our "moment" every morning is after I get Tbird dressed...I just hold him up over my head and kiss him and love on him and he smiles!!! No matter if I am running late for work or not, we need that time together....

  7. The evenings are the hardest part of my day - everyone seems to go crazy at the exact time I start dinner. It never fails.

However, next time one my kids rides by, I'm hopping on. Dinner will have to wait.

  13. What a cute pic. Nights are very hectic here, too. They are about to get crazier. We just signed up our 6 year old for softball, so that makes three in sports! CRAZY! Enjoy your time with them. They will always remember little moments like that. My 15 year old reminds me of silly times I never thought she would recall. :) Have a great day!

  26. Love it! I have to remind myself of this daily when Ella asks me to dance with her...because she always asks during the most hectic time. But, I do it because I know one day she won't want to dance with me anymore. So, I just do my best to take it all in and enjoy these days...as exhausting as they are!

  27. Oh, I know the craziness that you are speaking of...it's the same in our house each night. :) It's always good to remind ourselves to slow down and savor these precious moments with our little ones.

  28. I'm laughing b/c of the comment about you and Jason trying to talk about your day. If it's anything like at our house, everyone is talking at once! It's very hectic!
You and the boys look like you're having a great time!
