Fourth & Fireworks

What a wonderful weekend we had at home spending time with friends and celebrating the 4th of July!

Our worship service Sunday morning was amazing as we honored men and women in all branches of the military. I loved putting my hand over my heart and saying the Pledge of Allegiance, too. I hadn't done this in a long time.

Jason and I also did a lot getting ready for Colson. Bringing home a new baby can make you do the funniest things. We cleaned out the fireplace, vaccumed under the couch and couch cushions, and I've been organizing our garage shelves. Ha! I know Colson will care less, but at least I'll feel better, right?

It's been fun getting out all of the baby equipment, too. I didn't have a chance to do this before Reese was born since she came early so it's nice to be doing it again. I really can't believe within eleven months I will have had two babies. I'm so thankful my body has been able to handle it.

Saturday we went to the lake with some sweet friends.

Ross, Norah & Kate
Abby, Ava & Mark
Us
Zach's a little antsy to get into the water...I'm trying to teach him contentment. ; )
Zach and Jason tubing
Z and Norah floating around in the tubes
It did rain on us part of the time but we were fortunate to find an empty dock slip to wait it out. Zach jumped off the back of the boat by himself while we were waiting. He's never done this before, and we're so proud of him. It's a big step! ; )

Sunday night we went with some friends to our church's Fireworks at the Crosses. Zach and I had never been, and we loved every second. He did get a little scared during the show, but he'll be talking about it all week. ; )
Weston, Cody & Shannon
Weston was perfect! He just chilled out the whole time.
Our little fam
Stacy with her twins Payton & Parker, Kellen & Jill, Sarah & Owen
Ava & me ~ She is the sweetest thing and smiles all the time. Zach likes to say, "Ava, watch me!" before he does a trick. He's already trying to impress the ladies. Not sure what I think about that!
Abby, Ava & Mark
Waiting for the fireworks...
Z nestled in Shannon's lap most of the fireworks' display. He tried mine, but I guess he didn't have enough room. ; )

Wednesday is the big day for my amnio. I plan to squeeze Jason's hand TIGHTLY when my doctor is putting the needle into my belly. I've definitely been through worse things, but still the anticipation of it all...I'll let you know after we hear the results that afternoon. ; ) Thank you for your faithful prayers!

And remember, I am with you always...

  7. We are jealous of your "lake" buddies! Can't wait 'til we can join in! Zach jumping off the boat sounds like something Kohen would do. They'll be great buds, in trouble all the time, but great buddies! Crossing our fingers for Wednesday, and tell Jason to send Kyle a text or call.
