Riley?

Wow, I'm always blown away by your encouraging words and prayers. Thank you! I've had a rough few days so your kindness goes a long way.

Riley our German Shepherd loves to be outside and play in a pond close to our home. Her coat gets thick in the winter so she was starting to look very mangy. Even our neighbors started to smell her. ; ) So I took her to the pet store today to get a really good quality bath and brush.
We think they confused her with another dog who was there for a shave. Is this our beautiful dog!?
At least she is looking cute with her bows!
I'm completely kidding, although this was Jason's idea. We wanted her to be cooler this summer, but I wasn't quite convinced we should go this drastic. At least it will grow back, right? We love you, Ri.

The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.

  3. I never thought about shaving our big boy! I don't think pink is his color though. Our guy's name is Tazer - due to the fact that our son in law is a police officer.

  8. good morning! I just stumbled upon your blog today, and I must say that I am so humbled by your faith in our Lord, and so saddened by the loss of your beautiful daughter, a tragedy that I just don't understand. It is so hard to not ask God why sometimes. I have had a loss as well (miscarriage), my sister's little boy died in utero at 38wks, and I was the first to hold him after his birth. I now have a 3.5yr old son who has multiple medical issues, and sometimes I get so frustrated and just want him to not have to suffer. I am just so humbled by your unwavering faith, you give me hope, and courage. As I continue to walk this road with my son, I will think of you and your amazing love for our Lord. Thank you from the deepest parts of me. May God bless you greatly. You are changing my eternity with your believe, I will strive to be where you are.
    God bless!!!
PS LOVE the bedding! And I would love to know how you go about getting your blog made into a book.

  10. We have two golden retrievers and just shaved them. The shedding was out of control - I couldn't even keep up with the cleaning. So now they're nice and cool with their new hair do :)

  15. Love Riley's new haircut! I am sure that she feels so much better. I also have a German Shepherd who has just figured out that he would rather live in the house than outside. The hair issue is a problem and we have threatned to shave him. After seeing how cute Riley looks, we may just do that.

Love the way the nursery is looking...hope you paint the trunk red....

    Keeping you in my prayers...

  16. We have 2 German Shepherds and I would LOVE to have them shaved! One is all black though and his coat is so thick. Our other one looks like Riley. I'm thrilled to see Riley in the pictures with Z...makes me realize our "boys" will be good with our future babies.
