Thought it Might be Fun...

to share how we told our parents about baby #3. ; ) Jason and I always try to come up with little creative ways to tell our parents that I am pregnant. This time I wanted to tell them without saying a word. To sit back and watch their reactions. So...when we went home for Thanksgiving, we mixed in these three pictures with some from Zach's birthday party. It was completely natural to hand them some pictures to flip through.

I was so nervous! My heart was beating so fast. We loved doing this, and our parents' faces were priceless. Their expressions went from confused to shocked to "are they telling me what I think they are..." to happiness and tears. It worked out perfectly.

Our little hope's first ultrasound

Thanks for the ideas about a baby doppler monitor. Shannon is letting me borrow hers, so I feel much better already. She tried it out on me the other night looking all professional. It was too funny. I had forgotten she had one. ; )

Thank you also for asking how I am feeling. Very good now, just have the usual food cravings and aversions. With Zach I was sick from week six to nine exactly. With Reese I was sick for two months. This pregnancy I was sick from week six to week nine to the day again! This is why I have a hunch it's a boy, but who knows!?

I am so thankful for the support and love we receive from our friends who we have never met but read our blog. I wish I had the time to hide away and respond to each comment, but I simply cannot. Why can't I be two people sometimes!? I love to pop in on several of your blogs to see what you're up to, I just may not comment. Please know I read each of your comments (many several times) and am always so deeply touched. I'm thinking these past few years my main love language has been "Words," so your Godly and sweet words refresh my heart and soul.

I've been joking with Jason that people have to be sick of praying for us! I've said and felt this countless times, but never in our lives have we ever been so carried by your prayers than the last nine months. Of course we've never needed them this desperately. Thank you for allowing GOD to bless us through your faithfulness and thoughtfulness.

At least the topics of your prayers are changing. ; )

Seek the LORD while He may be found; call to Him while He is near.

  17. Great way to tell your parents! I know they are happy to see you so happy. I get teary even thinking about the struggles that Evie will face in life. No parent wants to see their child - even their grown child - hurt! It's just part of life and we have to trust in God's plan. I often tell my hubby that I am glad God has a plan because we sure don't! I think of you daily!

  34. this is precious! love how you told the family about baby #3! We are the same way about telling in a "creative" way! :)

I know exactly how you feel about being "carried" by the prayers of other brothers and sisters in Christ.

Please also know what a privledge it is to pray for your family. To intercede on the behalf of others is such an honor and blessing. And in some way, being "equipped" to pray for you because of my own loss just feels right. Not that having lost a child will EVER feel "right", but it feels a little redeemed when I can use my own pain for the sake of others in the name of the Lord. You'll understand what I mean, I know.

    So happy for you guys!

  42. My youngest daughter told us with pictures about her first pregnancy too. She had a pic of the positive pregnancy test. I couldn't figure out what it was at first - then she burst into tears because she got pregnant before her older sister who so desperately wanted a child.....

I love seeing pictures of Z and Reese.

I like to laugh at life's journey when I can.

  55. You don't know me, but I have been following your blog since right around the time Reese was born. I have a little girl who was born on July 30th, and she had colic for the first couple of months. Every time she was screaming her head off and I was so frustrated, I would think about you and how you would give anything to be holding Reese, no matter how fussy she was. So I would calm down and say a little prayer for your family and thank God for all the blessings He had given me. It allowed me to look at my (fussy) baby in a whole new light!

When I read your post announcing your pregnancy, I just cried tears of joy, I was so happy. I know that's crazy since I don't even know you, but I was just moved by God's work in your lives. I will pray that this pregnancy continues to go so smoothly!

  62. Love that idea on telling parents! We were creative with our first, I bought a great-grandmother birthday card to give my grandma on her birthday and signed it "See you around September" She kept looking at it over and over until she finally looked at me and "got it." We weren't real creative with our 2nd. We tried to get our son to tell but he couldn't quite get it. Still praying for a healthy baby.
