Today is a day I just try to get through. I like to focus more on Reese's birthday than her glory day. It's just too hard although I know where she is and that she's happy and healthy. I promise I feel every single prayer going up for our family, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
One of my best friends Rebekah created this word cloud from some of my posts, and I think it's so sweet. She's very creative.
We spent last week at the beach. I was a little hesitant (ok, I was dreading it) about being there the week of Reese's birthday, but it was perfect. God is so good. We had such a fun time with the boys and Jason's side of the family! I loved Trish's idea to release balloons for Reese's birthday.

We got home Saturday afternoon so that night Jason and I took the boys to pick out a cake and flowers for Reese's marker. Zach picked out her flowers last year, so it's become sort of a tradition. He picked out beautiful dark pink roses.
They really got into helping me. It was sweet.
Colson picked up a pine cone and thought he found a treasure. He was so excited he put it with Reese's flowers.
Zach was in the car at this point because he was ready to feed the ducks by the pond. ; )
I recently came across a quote by Luci Swindoll that I just love. She said, "We have been given a responsibility to live life fully, joyfully, completely, and richly, in whatever span of time GOD grants us on this earth."
I can't help but think of Reese and the lives her precious soul has touched. She has brought our families and friends closer together and amazing people into my life. Thank you for caring about our family and loving us so faithfully!
He will destroy death forever.
Isaiah 25:8
we're praying for your family today, Katie!

ReplyDeleteI've been touched by Reese's beautiful story over the past 3 years. Thank you for sharing your girl with all of us. Praying for comfort and peace for you today.
ReplyDeleteI love how you call it her "Glory Day." Sounds so much better than "death date." Her grave is so beautiful! I am glad that the boys were helpful - I love reading your blog and reading about your faith and trust in God.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you today and saying a special prayer. Her gravesite is beautiful and it is so neat that your boys go with you. Praying for peace for you and that your week is blessed!
ReplyDeleteLove the hand print on her stone just above her name...was that Z or C?
ReplyDeletePraying for y'all today and always. She continues to live on and inspire us all.
ReplyDeleteI've emailed you once before, but couldn't believe your post - titled 3, the same thing I titled mine today for my little girl's 3rd birthday. Can't help but cry & pray for you as I read through it. Hope you feel the Lord close today.
ReplyDeleteThinking and sending prayers your way! My heart breaks when I look at these pictures and realize what your new normal has become. I then remember what a gift we have in eternal life. Thank you for so honestly sharing your journey with us and being an amazing Christian witness.

ReplyDeleteI care still!!! I think of you often and read your blog almost daily.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures of the balloons were gorgeous....still fighting back tears! Poignant.
Do you still cry? I have to tell you that I still cry for Janie, whose 8th birthday was in May, and for Olivia, who has been with Jesus for two years in October....I cry like these girls left yesterday.
Just wanting you to know that I was thinking of you today.
(((HUGS)))
I know I talked to you on Sunday, but I just want to say again how often you are on my mind and how I pray for you often. Thank you for walking this journey publicly so that the world will see and know Jesus. You are a true jewel!
ReplyDeletewhat talent with that word cloud. your friend is so super sweet to do that for you! Our family thought of yours the whole weekend. Of course we did our annual letting of balloons for Reese, this year I didn't knock out power in the sub-division lol, I wore my shirt and prayed and thought of you so very much! On Monday I cried and my heart ached for you! I didn't want to message you since I know it was going to be such a very hard day. Thanks for your sweet words about what Kelcee said, she meant everyone of them! You are such a great mommy! OK so Z did a good job picking out that color pink for Reese love it! I also love that Colson put his little pinecone in the mix! Now that is brotherly love for sure! I lol about Z waiting in the car ready to see those ducks...those things still freak me out and yes I did again get chased by them this year lol! What in the world those things dispise me ha! I love your hot pink shirt! Girl you look so good! You have such a good GOD loving heart, and I am more than happy to call you my friend! Love Sums
