To complete celebrating Father's Day, Sunday night we went to get snow cones.
Love Colson's face. He's such a little character! Jason and I just laugh at all his faces and the way he cuts his eyes (especially when he's in trouble).
We also went to Reese's garden, and let the boys run around. It was neat to do as a family. I noticed there were several babies right around Reese that I had not noticed before.
I was so excited about Jason's Father's Day gift.
I wanted to do something special since he's so hard to buy for, so I made a shutterfly book of him with the kids. I worked on it the past few months little by little, and even Z helped me. We had fun with it. ; )
This summer I've been reading Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. It's wonderful! I love what it said today. "Glorifying and enjoying Me is a higher priority than maintaining a tidy, structured life. Give up your striving to keep everything under control - an impossible task and a waste of precious energy."
Hope your week is going well! We are in the middle of swimming lessons. Hilarious.

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so you may know what is the hope of His calling.

What a sweet gift!!!!! And snow cones, yummy!!!!! What a perfect day!!
ReplyDeletewe love snow cones, and now live closer to a stand than ever before, and still haven't made it there this summer yet. I love the picture of the boys at Reese's garden.
ReplyDeleteKatie I read that exact passage today. Did you know you can put it on your phone for like $6. I read it over and over through the day...cause I need it! The book is AWESOME! It's beautiful:)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun post! And I love Sarah Young's, Jesus Calling. I've been reading her daily devotions for the past six years and I just recently downloaded it onto my iPad, which I love because it has a feature where you can click on a certain topic (ex: anxiety--patience) and it references the parts of the book and Bible verses that touch on whatever topic you chose. There are also several other features that I like, as well.
ReplyDeleteKatie, the book looks amazing! I'm sure he treasures it. Love that Jesus Calling quote...I have it, but forget to pull it out each morning!
ReplyDeleteI love shutterfly books , what a great idea to do one for fathers Day! I will have to remember that next year;) I love Jesus Calling....great inspiring devotional. It so true that people that glorify him seldom have a tidy life, if we are honest. I love that scripture the HOPE of his calling :)
ReplyDeleteThe book was a perfect idea. It is obvious that Jason treasures his three children just like you do! I enjoy reading and recently read 'When I lay my Isaac Down' by Carol Kent. Amazing book. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteI have read your blog a few times and I love your love for our heavenly Father. I just cried when you shared Jesus Calling. I woke up this morning thinking of all the things I needed to do today and almost forgot the most important and that is to pray and get into the Word. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI am reading Jesus Calling also and that line that you shared jumped out at me yesterday too. Great to read it again!
ReplyDeleteGod bless your family!

LOVE the book, Katie!! Speaking of swimming lessons, we just finished two weeks straight, Monday through Thursday nights with our oldest, Jake. He's still wearing his Superman vest at the pool, but wow he learned so much. I hope ya'll have a great time!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the book!!!!! I made one for our family every year but I'm not too happy with the new Shutterfly layouts. That is until I see an awesome book like yours and want mine to be awesome too.
ReplyDeleteLove the blog!!! Read it every day but rarely comment.
Thanks for sharing your life with us. :)
I've read your blog for a long time, I'm friends with Becca Calvert & know Paige & Meredith (from Baylor) as well...but I've never commented! Your blog is one of my very favorites! Your strength and testimony to those around you AMAZE me!! I had to comment because my son Barrett reminds me so much of your Colson!! We too laugh at him because he cuts his eyes and makes the silliest of faces &. He is a big boy too!'. I also am reading Jesus Calling right now & was so wowed by that same post! I even shared it on FB and so many Mommies responded! Thank you for sharing your life so openly! You minister to so many I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteI've heard about Jesus Calling! I have been meaning to order it!
