Lesson

Recently our gym offered one free tennis lesson for a child and a friend, so of course I thought of Zach and Kohen. I knew they would love it!
All day before the lesson Z kept saying he didn't want to go because he didn't know how to play. I told him we would just go watch Kohen, and he was ok with that. ; ) I was a little worried though.
Thankfully, he jumped right in.
I had fun watching these two cuties, and their teacher did a great job with them.
Is it just me or do ya'll feel completely overwhelmed? Not necessarily in a bad way either. Sometimes I can be peaceful on the outside yet so anxious inside. I feel no matter how much I try to simplify our lives, it's still crazy! Ahhh just one day at a time, right? Sometimes just one hour at a time.

One of my favorite things about living in the "country" is the beautiful sunrises and sunsets we see. So peaceful. I'm so thankful we serve such a creative GOD!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

O LORD, what is man that you care for him, the son of man that You think of him?

Psalm 144:3

  1. I am anxious ALL THE TIME!!!! Sometimes it's hard to make it through a run because I am in such a hurry to get home to get other things done!!! It drives my husband nuts!!! But in a good way!!! He loves that I like to be busy! On a different note...in your last post you are standing with your family in front of your fireplace mantle, will you show a picture of it alone? I think it looks so pretty and put together and I am desperate to make mine look so good! Right now I have nothing on it because I am out of ideas! Thanks!

  2. Love your post today! How fun that Z got to play a new sport.
I feel that anxious feeling a lot too! I feel like I'm in charge of the 3 most precious things on earth and I want them to have the best/be the best etc. It's a lot of expectations I have for myself to live up to! I too take it sometimes hour by hour (have you read my last couple of posts about trying to keep up with Grady lately :).

Lots of love to you today friend and hope that you guys have an amazing Thanksgiving! xoxox

  4. I've been reading your blog for ages, but don't think I've ever commented before.. =O Just wanted you to know you're not alone on the overwhelmed feeling. Even when I simplify, things just seem to pile up and I just can't quite get caught up. Crazy.

Oh, and your sunrise/set picture is AMAZING! We used to live in Arkansas. And now we miss it.

  5. I know what you mean. I do tell myself to take it one day at a time when I get anxious. God won't ever give us a blueprint for our lives, but he will guide us in the right direction. He does. I always try and listen to what he is saying. He is telling me that I need to make a list of who all I need to buy gifts for TODAY!!! I keep putting it off. -Too overwhelming to tackle with 2 youngs ones. They cooperate about 12 minutes in any store!!

  6. I have noticed how overwhelmed I am too. This year the kids and us decided to have Thanksgiving at our church and invite some people that would have no place else to go. I think worrying about making that special is driving me nuts. I must take time to be thankful to the One who has given me so many reasons to be thankful....

  8. Your right Katie. Sadly I think it is a thing of the times we live in. So much technology to make life easier - but has it? Seems to me it also has made expectations much harder. Everyone expects to do it all - and to do it NOW! You are not alone in these feelings. The world is moving so fast. Whether you are a mom or a working gal without children like myself, it feels the same.

I'm sure this is why God tells us "Be still and know that I am God"

Crazy times - you almost have to schedule in your day "still times" hah Have a blessed thanksgiving. I enjoy your blog and following your sweet family.
