Sunday

Earlier this summer my dad talked with me about taking a fishing trip. I have been fishing with him since I was a little girl, and I love it! When he asked about going August 11 it was perfect.

We loved being away for a few days, and I'll share more about our trip later. ; )

Reese's birthday was a special time for us. Last year we celebrated her first birthday with both of our families, but this year Jason and I wanted it to be just the four of us.

Colson has not been feeling himself lately, so this is what he did most of the time.

Zach picked out pink passion roses for Reese. In the car ride all the way to the store he told me he wanted yellow flowers but changed his mind when he saw all the different colors. It was really sweet.

The color of roses was Star Blush.

We released 2 red balloons because Reese would have been 2 years old. We also released two green balloons, two yellow balloons, and some pink balloons. Z chose the green balloons for himself and the yellow ones for Colson.

I told him we were sending them to Reese, and she would catch them in Heaven and know they were from us. I could tell he really liked that thought.
Z really wanted to keep one green balloon, but when he saw the others floating away he decided to let it go, too. Since it was the last one to disappear he asked why Reese had not caught it yet. He said, "Maybe Reese not like green balloons." It was so cute!
Of course one got caught in a tree, too. ; )

On a very hard day, we felt so carried by your prayers!

The LORD make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you...

  5. This post was very sweet. Your family is a great example of how God gives grace even in the hardest times. I started reading your blog when Reese went to heaven and I have been beyond blessed with each post you have written since that time. Thank you.

  6. He continues to make everything beautiful including the journey your family is on. Thank you for being transparent and showing/telling of your pain, grief, and joy. May He continue to provide you with His presence and His healing - and may He continue to use your story to bless the lives of others.
I will continue to lift your family up in prayer.

As a mommy missing my twin boys desperately, so many of your words speak straight to my heart. I have gathered so much strength through reading your story. Thank you for sharing it, and happy birthday to your sweet Reese.

  14. You are such an inspiration to me. I have never been pregnant but my young brother and girlfriend was pregnant and was gonna give me their baby because they were to young to keep it. He died 17 days after birth. It was the most horrible time in our lives. I couldn't imagine had I had him myself. I have been following your blog for a while and I still don't know what happend to Reese?
