Safe

Zach jumps off of anything in sight. My brave little man. He also loves to make Colson laugh, so this video is a wonderful combination. I have no idea why it's sideways. ; )

I really miss Reese. I've been so busy with our boys there has not been much time to think and reflect on her. It just seems that familiar ache is closer to the surface these days.

I saw this video on someone's blog, and it's how I feel sometimes. I laughed at certain parts because it hit so closely to home. Since Reese went to Heaven, it's very easy for me to hide in our little routines, doing everything I can to keep our boys happy and secure. Of course it's completely natural to feel this way after what we've been through, but I also don't want to live an plain "safe" life.

I am challenged to keep living and trusting in my Heavenly Father. I've been to the depths of the deepest valley with Him, and I can still say He is faithful!

  1. Isn't it nice to know that we are SAFE in the arms on Jesus. That Reese is SAFE in THE arms of Jesus...literally. WOW. What an amazing thought. I love you, miss her too and am sending you a big hug from D.

  4. my 3.5 year old daughter is the exact same way.. she jumps off of everything.. the down fall is that she gets horrible growing pains and it seems that when she is more active or crazy during the day they happen that night!

    She is getting a tramp for her birthday in April.. :) a big tramp!

  6. I think all your thoughts are perfect...it's normal to grieve in the way that you are, and your faith and love and trust in the Lord is normal and wonderful. It's just that we MISS that person till we are all reunited again. Prayers for your aching heart and hugs for your sweet boys who will keep you busy so that you don't have too much time to dwell on sadness. The video was precious!!!

    The video was precious.:-) they are such handsome lil men.
    I keep you in my prayers..I know how hard it is to go through the motions and have an aching heart. God is faithful and merciful. In my selfish moments, I would give anything to hold Ryan Elizabeth one more time.....

  10. I love Colson's laugh... medicine to anyone who is having a bad day for sure! And I love listening to Zach talk :) He is at my favorite age.

    We are praying for you guys always. I love remembering that God's grace is sufficient... in the good times and the bad. You are an incredible mom to all 3 of your kids and a great example for other women!

Kyle and I just read this posting together, and we both just crack up because Zach has the cutest Southern accent, and Kohen does the EXACT same thing to Wyatt...well, except he doesn't jump off the boxes to make Wyatt laugh. He more jumps off to see if he can land just beside Wyatt, close enough to make me freak out :) Way to go, Momma! Colson is a chunky monkey. Don't you love it?! He and Wyatt are going to give their big brothers a run for their money! PS. We found a house in Bridlewoods that we love. We may be neighbors after all-well, if Kyle ever decides to accept a job!
