Thank you for sharing your stories! They made me smile even though I know they were not funny at the time (or even now?). ; ) Are we in this together or what? It's nice to know I'm not the only "crazy overwhelmed doing my best but everything still falls apart" mama.
How boring would our kids' lives be anyway if we had it all together? Really!
We need to start a list of everything we have washed in the washing machine...wallets, cell phones, ipods, ipod shuffles, lipstick, screws. Or maybe not.
It was good for my heart to hear that I'm not the only one. Wow! Sometimes it's just the smallest things that can go wrong, and I just want to stick my head in the ground and hide. How can Satan so easily pull me down? I hate it.
I love how someone said, "Imperfect is the new perfect." I like the sound of this.
That day I washed Jason's wallet I felt like the LORD said to me, "Katie, you'll never be on top of it no matter how hard you try." I think I'll just listen to Him and go with it although it's so hard sometimes. His grace covers me still.
Big day today...Zach's birthday party!
Just to keep ya hanging...
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
2 Corinthians 9:8
Good post. I just washed an entire tube of lip gloss with my clothes and ruined three of my favorite things. I was pretty upset.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Zach!
ReplyDeleteI washed a black sharpie once. I got lucky and it didn't come open. It seems that I should be checking better now. My 4 year old is putting kleenex in his pocket. Today we were driving home and he said "Why is there toilet paper in my pocket?"
Happy birthday Zach! He is simply ADORABLE.
ReplyDeleteI am your newest follower and want to thank you for the reminder that we are not perfect!

Happy Birthday you little cutie Zach!!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I have washed Pull-Ups on more than one occassion (don't ask). I will say, they make a HUGE mess in the washer, but whatever makes it into the dryer actually is easy to clean up after everything is dry. Yep, HIS grace is enough for me. :-)
Oh hope he has a great Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday cutie Zach!!!!
ReplyDeleteGrace is definitely the word!!!!! Happy Birthday Zach!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteKatie ~ I can so relate to what you are saying. I can be fine one minute and once I mess up something even small, Satan does take over! Boy, he can really pull me down in an instant and just beat me up. Hang in there and just keep doing what your doing, because I think it is pretty perfect!
ReplyDeleteI am a fairly new follower. LOVE your blog. Happy birthday to your big guy! I have a 3 year old too. Along with a 2 year old and 7 month old!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Zach!
ReplyDeleteI actually enjoyed reading your post because I always feel like I am never doing good enough as a Mom, wife, and at work, etc.
I actually have a post written up about it, but I just have not posted it. It is just overwhelming at times and the smallest things can just get to you. I remember crying about something not to long ago and Sam asking me "your crying about that?" and my response was "not that, just everything" and he just smiled:)
Hope you had a great time partying with Zach!
Look at Z he is presh in everyway!! Love the cookie and can't wait to see pics from the party!

Aw,can't wait to see more birthday party pics!!!!!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteyou crack me up! for nearly a decade i kept a basket to collect what i find in the wash! my motto is :if it's in there, it's mine!" rocks are fair game for the trash, toys get confiscated, and money :))) heheheheeh gets turned into starbucks! i get the whole beat yourself up thing. but if my kids grow up knowing Christ in a real way and bring others to know Him, then, i'm a blessed momma.
ReplyDeleteI, too, have washed a million things with the laundry...wooowh! But somehow things end well anyway. Love your posts!
ReplyDeleteZach and his cookie are adorable...Happy Birthday!!
Hi Katie, I just read your last post and you just impress me so much. You DO have it together even though you think you don't. I understand completely though, we set expectations of ourselves and if we don't meet them, we think we are failures and over look all of the stuff we DID accomplish. Your faith and dedication are an inspiration to me. I have washed so many things in the laundry that I shouldn't have, I have lost count!!! I hope your days are looking up.
ReplyDeleteBTW, yay for Colson for sleeping through the night!!!

We all make mistakes, it's just the stress that comes with being a mommy!! And with that, I washed a load of laundry with CRAYONS tucked in a pocket. And the washing wasn't the problem, it was when I put the load in the dryer. MELTED blue crayon on EVERYTHING. It was horrible. :(
