On the Verge

After Zach's swimming lessons this past week he is already a tan little fish! A wild one too as usual.
Day one ~ Ready to go!
Now why am I doing this at 8 months pregnant? Ha!

On the first day his teacher told me he was "on the verge." On the verge of what I had no idea. On the verge of splashing everyone so much they looked like drowned rats? On the verge of putting me into labor because he was so wiggly? On the verge of driving her crazy? On the verge of being a professional swimmer? Ha. She was smiling and her voice sounded positive, so I took this as a good thing. I was almost scared to ask what she meant. ; )

On the second day Ms. Kim told me he was close to swimming all over the pool. Progress.
On the third day she said that if he would only shut his mouth he would be swimming everywhere. Imagine that! The boy laughs so hard his mouth stays wide open sucking in all that pool water. He doesn't seem to mind, but we are really working on blowing bubbles and humming while he swims. ; )
Mr. Independent also tried several times to push me away and swim alone. He's fearless! I'm so thankful he loves being in the water, and I want him to be safe safe safe.

On day four Ms. Kim used Z as an example of what kids should not do when they get into the water. Bless his heart, but at least he was laughing the entire time! He was also doing it right by the end of class.
Last day ~ We survived. ; )
Jason came to watch and take some pics. Z was so proud to show his Daddy all his tricks.
Z in action
All worn out with his certificate. He loved every second and was precious all week. Thank you, Lord.

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand or marked off the heavens with the span of His hand?

  7. Tan he is! Lucky Z. Because we lived in the tropics, we learned how to swim early. When my brother was 4, he climbed up on the high diving board at the swim club and some lady went nuts screaming to the lifeguards to save him. Keep paddling Zack!
