Thank you for all your sweet anniversary wishes! Z is spending time with his grands for a few days, so Jason and I are spreading out our anniversary fun. Eating out, snowcones and late movies. ; ) I'm also getting so much done on my "before Colson is born" list. Hopefully he'll be here TWO weeks from today. We're ready, anxious, hopeful, scared and so excited all at the same time...
Thank you Gran and G-Daddy for playing with Z this week. ; ) I know he is loving every minute, and you are definitely not lacking any entertainment. I miss my little man!
For our anniversary, Jason and I flew to Gaston's. It's a fishing resort I grew up going to with my family. My dad and I love to fish, but I don't like to eat fish. Ha! Jason had never been there so it was special to go together.
The flight was about 30 minutes, and we landed on the grass runway. The trees were a little too close for me. It was the first time I had been nervous when Jason touched down, but he did great. ; )
Ahhh...brings back such memories from when I was a little girl. Everything is still the same. The restaurant, the docks, the cabins. We can't wait to take Zach and Colson when they are older. The funny thing is it will be me in the boat with them! Jason doesn't like to fish, but I have a feeling I'll need him to bait the hooks and do all the yucky stuff about fishing my Dad used to do. ; )
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to GOD.
Philippians 4:6
Ummmmmmmmm, Jason doing "yucky stuff"?? Baiting a hook?? This I've GOT to see! As I remember, I was always doing the gross stuff for him. He would shoot the birds and I would have to get them ready to cook.
ReplyDeleteJealous. Jealous. Jealous. Seriously...any time the Rowes want to take Abs...let me know!
ReplyDeleteKatie,
ReplyDeleteWe do not know each other but I have enjoyed reading your blog. I found it througha friends blog and became hooked. I have never commeted before but I must say this post was so funny because I share a special bond with my father and we love to fish together. However I do not eat fish and my dad does all the baiting and yucky things. Your family will be in my prayers as the birth of your new little man grows closer. Angie
so fun! We went to Gaston's for Drew's birthday last year with his dad. The food there is REALLY good!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a really relaxing place! Also, that is my absolute favorite verse. It got me through the horrible year of 2009 when there was much uncertainty about our lives and careers. I must have repeated it to myself at least twice a day!
ReplyDeleteOh wow... that looks like such a wonderful place to spend some quiet time! It is beautiful!! That is so sweet that it holds such special memories... and new ones to come! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never commented before but I love to see your family go on these little trips. My husband is a pilot as well and I love when he flies us different places, although it has been awhile since he has done that. Praying for you and hope these next 2 weeks you can finish preparing for Colson!
ReplyDeleteLOVE Gastons - that's so funny that we were just talking about it. You catch the fish and Jason will eat them! So glad to hear that you're enjoying some sweet time with your hubby before Colson arrives!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time! I am not much of a fisher, but I have great memories of my Grandpa taking me fishing with him when I was growing up.
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing at Shannon's comment. I had no idea that Jason was like that?? Really??? Who is going to teach Zach and Colson???? YOu??? 2 weeks...wow. Amazing. I think Faber needs a plane...I'm kindof tired of the restaurants here:) That is AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteKatie - my parents live just a couple of miles from Gaston's and we had our rehearsal dinner there!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!!!
Hi Katie! As you look out the windows at Gaston's restaurant and look across the river, we live less than a mile from there! Glad you had a great anniversary!!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you as you await Colson's arrival!!
Blessings!
Kelly's Mom
how fun! What a great get away for your anniversary and before the little man comes!
ReplyDeleteI've been keeping up but have been bad about leaving you comments :) I'm so excited that Colson is almost here! The Lord is with you and will protect that baby boy throughout his life. I love knowing that about our kids, don't you? He loves them worlds more than even we do...
ReplyDeleteOn a totally different note, my husband is a pilot too and I've told him I'd never go with him-I'm terrified-I know, I know, "but you married a pilot," I'm not very brave about airplanes. Maybe I should get over it? Ha. I've tried for years and years. I'm praying about how I can get over it while also not embarassing him terribly. He flies for Delta and on more than one occasion I've hugged the pilots on our flight and thanked them for landing the plane safely. He says that's his job and the pilots aren't surprised like I am when we land safely. I'm his worst nightmare :)
How much fun!!! Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteWhat a special time and so cool you have your own personal pilot, haha!! :)
ReplyDelete2 weeks! You are so close!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys had a great time celebrating your anniversary. I would have been a little nervous too with the trees so close! Ha!
Take care :)
Glad you're getting a little break for your anniversary. I am SURE Cam and Trisha are having a blast. Thinking about you over these next few days. Dillon's birthday is July 6th, and so hopefully we'll have cousin birthday week. ha!
ReplyDeleteDon't u just LOVE a couple of kid-free days with your sweetie! My 2 are going to their Nana's and Pop's for the weekend. I can't wait to be footloose and fancy free!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun anniversary trip!! That's so cool that your hubby flys y'all. You look beautiful and the little fishing resort looks beautiful as well! Enjoy your trip!!
ReplyDeleteYou two are looking so happy on this picture. I am praying for Colson's safe arrival.
ReplyDeleteAww I love going there! It's so pretty! We lived in Greers Ferry for a year or so and we used to drive up there on the weekends. Yummy food too! Well even if Jason doesn't fish, at least he flies!! Looks like SO much fun!!
ReplyDeleteKatie--who did Jason use for his pilot's license???? Guess who I work for? Gleim!! I think it's so neat that he will fly y'all to wherever you want to go--just to go to dinner! HOW STINKIN' SWEET!! I hope y'all had a good anniversary!
ReplyDeleteAwww...how fun for you guys!! Happy Anniversary! And I was just looking at the pictures on the previous post and they were cracking me up! You guys are too too adorable!
