Things We Say

Happy Friday!

I love reading what people say in their homes and around their families. Some of the truest and funniest things come out of our mouths.

In honor of Mother's Day, I thought of a few things my mom said concerning Reese...

I was recently looking at pics on my computer and came across this big guy. A few weeks after Reese was born, Jason and I went to the zoo with our parents. Just looking at those pictures brings back fresh feelings to what that time was like. Raw. My mom took one look at this gorilla and said, "That's how I feel."
The other day my mom and I were talking about Reese and how sometimes we get so upset we don't know what to do. We were out running errands and drove past a breakfast place. She said, "Makes me want to go drown my sorrows in a donut." Trust me, I've wanted to do much more but this brought a smile to my face.

Sometimes a mom just gets it.

These are a few conversations that have gone on in our home this past week.

Me - "No, Zach, we don't eat wood."

Jason - "Hey babe, since my parents are coming up for the weekend, why don't we have Mother's Day lunch at our house, and you can cook?"
Me - "Ok...you want me to cook on Mother's Day?"
Jason - Oh yeah, I don't think of you as a mother."
Me - "Nice."
Jason (recovering) - "I mean, I think of you as my hot beautiful pregnant wife."

Zach - "I want chapstick!"
Jason - "Please?"
Zach - "Pwease."
Jason - "Zach, you can't have my chapstick because you ruin it. Here, you can have Mommy's chapstick."

Zach - "Reese...in Heaven."

The last one is my favorite. ; )

...so is My word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

  2. Those are so cute. Kid conversations are the best! You never know what they will say. Aaron asked what was inside my body and I said Organs. He put his hands out like he was playing a key board and said "dut, dut, dut" organ. LOL

  16. I always love stories about your and Mando's parents. Just so sad I haven't yet gotten to meet them. My favorites are the one about how your dad messes with Mandy's horizontal screws just to annoy her and the one about how he first met Bo's parents with the wig on! Classic

  19. The conversations in my house go more like this:

    Mars (Cat) - Meroaw
Me (Human) - No you can't go outside noone is out there to watch you and I don't trust you.
    Jasmine (Dog) - Grrr. Ruff!
Me (Human) - See she said you don't need to go out either.

Needless to say, I have very vocal animals.

Your home makes a little more sense!

    Happy Friday, Katie.
