CAR

Our second little man has a name. ; )

Colson Allen Rowe

Colson was one of my top choices when Zach was born, and it's still a favorite. This little guy's first name had to grow a bit on Jason, but he loves it now. Allen is my Dad's name, so Colson is named after him. His initials are CAR.

Colson means precocious and swarthy (ha!). The definition I looked up of swarthy is "a dark-skinned beauty" which the dark-skinned part is not hard to imagine with Jason's and my skin tone.

Allen means handsome, masculine and harmony. My Dad is such a peacemaker I thought this was very appropriate for him. ; )

A sweet friend made several burp cloths for me when I was pregnant with Reese, and they are the cutest things. I chose one that could work with a boy and had it monogrammed with his initials. We surprised my Dad today with the news.
I showed this to him just to see his reaction. Since it only had Colson's initials I didn't know what he would think. He guessed when he saw the "A" and my smile. He loves it, of course!
I have been excited about this for weeks! You can't beat a good surprise. Especially one that means so much.

I determined the exact time of your birth
and where you would live.

Acts 17:26

  13. Love the name you have chosen, your Dad must be very happy and proud. I was wondering if you you would shorten his name to Cole? I know some parents who prefer the full name be used. I like both. Sending many blessings and a happy Easter weekend.

  17. I am a sucker for namesakes. Two of my three kids have them and I often refer to them by their first AND middle names, even when they AREN'T in trouble!! I just love hearing a bit of their heritage in their name. Great choice and what an honor for your father!!

  22. Katie,
What a cute name. I love when you can name a child after someone you love so much! I have had two babies since the child we lost at birth and I know you will find as I have that they are just what you know God wanted you to have. I don't know if that makes sense, but my girls have helped to heal my heart in so many ways. They never replace but healing does come. I am praying for you a healthy and precious little Colson.

  23. What a great name! Our oldest son is Coleson.....just spelled with the added "e". His name was my grandmother's maiden name. I'm so glad you provided the meaning of his name. We could never find the meaning. He'll get a kick out of it. He's 17 and 6ft. 4in. Can't wait to see pictures of your Colson in a few months.
