Just Bein' Silly

I LOVE it when Zach has his hair back (which is never). Sometimes his hair gets a little too long for me in the front, so I'm always sweeping it over to one side. I really want to cut his hair short for spring and summer, but Jason firmly say NO (because of his hairline). I'm a little scared just to do it on my own. I know, crazy! Anyone on my side?
I'm sure you're wondering about these pictures. Somehow Z managed to come home with this mask (THANKS Uncle Cody) after we went to see Westin, and he loves it. Sometimes it bothers his face, so I lift it up on his forehead. He likes it there, too, so it works. Hilarious.
Complete with sucker and sticky mouth. I can't help but laugh.

I think I take so many pictures of Z in the car because this is the only time he sits still. ; )

A little story I always want to remember...the other night I was rocking Zach before bedtime. Usually Jason puts him to bed but Z wanted me to, so I was not about to pass on this sweet time. As I was rocking him, we sang "Jesus Loves Me" together. Then he wanted me to sing "Head Shoulders Knees & Toes." Then Beyonce's "Single Ladies" (Put a Ring on it). Yes, really. He loves the chorus. Then back to the more age-appropriate "ABC" song.

I love this stage.

I'm really missing Reese today. As much as I adore seeing her pictures, they're painful reminders to me lately of what beauty we held for two days but not anymore. Thank GOD His promises are true. One day we'll hold her again, and I won't ever have to let go.

Now the GOD of all grace...will personally restore, establish, strengthen, and support you after you have suffered...

  7. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that "All the single ladies" is Connor's VERY FAVORITE song and he sings and dances to it all the time!! My husband bought him the Chipmunks Movie CD so now he plays it ALL THE TIME. That is so funny that Z loves it too.
Praying for you and your heart today. I am so sorry and I wish you had that sweet baby in your arms!

It's so funny that you posted about singing Jesus Loves Me. That's what I sing to my baby when I put her down for the night. Those really are special moments. How hilarious that Zach likes Beyonce. That put a smile on my face!

  13. He is so cute! LOVE yalls bedtime line up! lol! I have been really trying to meditate on the fact that God is UNCHANGABLE. It remind me that he is the same to me each and everyday (im the inconsistant one) and also that even when circumstances change or ppl disappoint and etc God never changes. It has been a great sourced of comfort for me recently...maybe it will be to you, maybe not but I am praying right now God will comfort you however you need it!

  16. Katie-You had me laughing at the hat and then the Beyonce song! I lost it. OH. MY! That's hilarious.
    1. Don't do the home hair cut. I got impatient and tried it...a few times and it's never good. It's really embarrassing when you have to get it fixed and explain that you did it. Not the child. :)
    2. I totally get the whole taking pictures in the car because he's still. My mom says I go and do too much, but I told her it's actually easier than staying home since the kids are restrained. It does get easier.

  17. I so understand about the hair. My 7yo had THICK THICK hair and my husband loves it longer and I want to cut it (because of heat and thickness) but I get vetoed! And now, my son is adamant about it not being "too short" when we go for haircuts!

  19. My son has a high forehead like that but I keep his hair short - if you get a clipper cut that is sort of combed down (a la George Clooney), it hides some of the forehead. It's super cute and will be much cooler for him during the summer.

  20. You have such a beautiful little man! What a cutie!

And crack me up that he wanted you to sing "Single Ladies!"

    What a hoot!!

Still remembering you and your family in our prayers....

  21. I'm going to vote no to the buzz cut. ;) Although I would like to see it, it is too big of a risk. Haha

  22. Caedmon has weird requests for bedtime songs, too. The Razorback Fight Song is a current favorite, along with Pants On The Ground. Clearly our taste in music is stellar. Ha! Aren't little boys cute?

Oh, and on the hair? I'm totally with you on a short haircut. Caedmon's is long right now because Chris wants it that way. I've already warned him that with summer comes a shorter cut. I love it when he has a "big boy" haircut!

  23. I love his hair back too! I think you should give him a cute short hair cut for the summer! I agree!

    Love you!

  24. My little boy(23 months) goes around our house singing "Single Ladies" all the time. He gets so tickled when he sings it...especially the "Uh, Uh, Oh, Uh, Uh, Oh, Oh...part" So glad someone else's kid likes that one:) I can thank Alvin and the Chipmunks for this one!!! He is so cute!

  25. Z is too cute! He makes me smile! I used to get lots of pics of Walker in his car seat and in the bath tub for the very same reason. Little boys are so funny!

    Praying for you, Sweet Friend!

  26. ok with his hair pulled back he looks like YOU! I think you should go for the "short"...it'll always grow out. Change can be fun...if you can get past Jason. Love you. Praying for you this am. It's snowing like crazy outside...so weird. Winter does not want to pass.

  27. Hello there Katie. I'm not entirely sure how I came across your blog, but I did and have been hooked ever since. You are a constant reminder about how blessed we truly are.... thank you for that!!!

These pictures are great ones, and I praying that your heart is filled with much more love than sorrow and that your spirits are lifted sooner than later!!!!

Praying for you and your family,
