Healing

"The LORD is good to all: and His tender mercies are over all His works."

Psalm 145:9

This verse is on the journal I have to write my thoughts and prayers about Reese. Isn't it great? GOD's tender mercies are over ALL of His works. Everything He does. I love it!

A friend reminded me today of Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I can do all things...even HEAL.

I have never in my life thought of this powerful verse this way, and it lights my path today. I really can heal. I will heal with Jesus helping me. I want to heal.

Some friends have also encouraged me from Psalm 37. Verse three says, "Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture."

I may not want to dwell in "this land," this hurtful place in our lives but this is where GOD has us, and I sure do not want to leave His side. I want to enjoy His "safe pasture" each moment of each day. He makes me feel safe.

Thank you for walking and praying with us on this journey. I know you choose to be a part of our lives, and I am truly honored.

I am also VERY honored and excited to share with you that my sister in law Shannon is PREGNANT! I will have a new little niece or nephew in March. I could not be happier for her and Cody, and they will be amazing parents! Zach needs a buddy up here, too. ; )

  4. Good Morning Katie! I'm sitting here before my little ones get up and we start our getting ready for Pre-School and what not and once again the Lord brought your family on my heart this morning and i lifted you up and then I was reading Psalm 116 and I was brought to tears because you have such strength and Trust and Love for our Lord that all of this is so contagious....Psalm 116; 1-7
"I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me I will call on him as long as I live. The cords of death entangled methe anguish of the grave came upon me; I was overcome by trouble and sorry Then I called on the name of the Lord; "o Lord , Save me" 5 The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is FULL of Compassion. The Lord protects the simplehearted; when I was in great need, he saved me. Be at rest once more, O my soul for the Lord has been good to you.

Wow! When I read this this morning I couldn't help but think of you and pray and think of how amazing your faith is, how you just cling to our heavenly father ! I pray that today you find alittle peace...Thinking and lifting you up often,
    Stacey

  11. Katie, this so blessed me!...

"I may not want to dwell in "this land," this hurtful place in our lives but this is where GOD has us, and I sure do not want to leave His side. I want to enjoy His "safe pasture" each moment of each day. He makes me feel safe."

I just know that attitude of your heart blesses God's heart and keeps you near Him, the safest place to be. He sustains us thought every circumstance that He allows. I am praying for you and your family, that God's presence would be felt so near to you right now.

  12. Hi Katie,
I am praying for you! You are going forward, I can tell as the scriptures you read are your strong hold, yet I know for me we do run in to days where the grieving seems so heavy and questions arise in our hearts. I remember reading this verse with our Joel, (John 1:46) And Nathaniel said unto him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, "come and see." That was my question, "what good can come from Joel dying?" But as I have sought and read and prayed, as I am heeding His invitation in coming, following, seeking, praying, crying.....I am seeing. Sometimes its just small and only a glimmer, nevertheless its still good coming from this trial and so it will for your trial as well.....heed His invitation, "come and see."

    thinking and praying for you...

    Cindy

  13. you will heal--you can hope in that! You may have a scar, but you will heal. I can speak from experience, and as I say it "God miraculously healed me emotionally" because I know I couldn't have healed any other way with something so devastating. Every step of the way I could see how he was healing every part of my heart, soul and mind by speaking and holding me as you so wonderfully illustrate.

  16. my Bible (nasb) reads "dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.." I think you are an amazing example of just that - cultivating (growing/nurturing/perfecting) faithfulness. God is glorified!
My heart breaks to think of how hard it must be though. May God encourage you today!
