When Jason and I got married almost six years ago, I thought we would stay up late at night talking and talking...just like we did on the phone while were dating and also just like I did with my college roommates or girl friends at bunkin' parties. You get the idea.
I was so wrong.
It didn't take long for me to realize after we were married how different Jason and I were when it came to going to sleep. When I got into bed I was ready to have deep conversations. It was a harsh reality to discover that Jason was asleep before his head hit the pillow. Life has been like this for over five years, so I learned to get all my words in before we went to bed.
Until Zach was born.
Yea! Finally just how I thought marriage would be like! Well...sorta. Before Zach slept through the night, Jason and I would talk at eleven, 2 am, and 5 am (or whenever Zach woke up). It was wonderful! (Not the being awake part, but the conversation part). Now that Zach is sleeping we have gone back to our previous ways. I'm ok with it though, right now I would rather talk during the day and sleep at night. ; )
It was nice while it lasted!
I have never wanted to have a conversation at all past 9:00....where do you come from???
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mandy...I dont like talking at night. And I've told Josh on more than one occasion that I can't be help accountable for the things I say past 9.
ReplyDeleteLove the title!
ReplyDeletei am the same way...my hubby has learned not to tell me things after 9 b/c i am not accountable for them. we will see if that changes when our baby girl is here...ha!
ReplyDeleteHee hee............I am the SAME way. The first year of marriage I would get in bed ready to chat away and Scott would be snoring. Sometimes I would pick fights as we were going to bed just to try and get him to talk to me and he HATED that. I don't even try anymore!
ReplyDeleteI know for a fact that one of your college roommates was not into the late night talking thing!
