Weekend Fun

This weekend we...
 played a little soccer
 (go Purple Squirrels!),
 ate a few donut holes,
and grilled out on the deck (we have got to do something with the boys' hair...I'm thinking really short cute summer haircuts?).
Zach sang in his very first PRE-XLR8 performance at church last night. He did great, and Jason and I sat on the front row smiling like crazy. I can't believe we have a child old enough to be doing this!
Jason and I even squeezed in a few dates nights, too. I love a weekend at home with my three men. ; )

My whole being will exclaim, “Who is like You, Lord?

Letters

I've gotten a lot of attention since my fender bender last week. ; ) One woman called me three times in one day!
Goodness me. ; )

Ya'll have a good weekend!

A man's steps are established by the LORD, and He takes pleasure in his way.

Spring Lovin'

I love everything about spring. The flowers. The colors. The birds. Being outside all the time.
I love watching the boys eat popsicles on the back deck and getting sticky from head to toe.
I love that the boys wear shorts all the time.
I love flip flops and French pedicures.

I love that summer is still ahead of us.

I love that GOD is always intentional in what He is doing in our lives and where He has us. You never know who you are influencing!

PS. Is it weird that we are still watching Polar Express?

Do not let my heart turn to any evil thing...

Kittens

I met the sweetest girl at my tennis tournament this past weekend. She reads my blog and told me she loves seeing how everyone remembers Reese and what they do for her. She also shared how she was able to help a friend who had lost a baby. It was so encouraging to hear how she stepped up and supported her friend like so many of you do for us!

I'm always a little sad when a girls' weekend is over. It's nice to get away from reality sometimes. ; )

It's good to be home, too.

Our neighbors' farm cats just had kittens. Oh my goodness they are so cute, and no I don't want one. ; )
Zach was so sweet handling all of them.
I was so surprised when Colson scooped one right up! He really didn't know what to do with it. Poor kitty.
He was so proud! Love love his face.

Yesterday a woman asked me if the boys are twins. Ha! She said, "I bet you get that all the time!" I didn't have the heart to tell her she was the first person to ever ask me this. Maybe they really will look like twins when Colson gets to be as big as Zach. ; )

Enjoy your Tuesday!

May He answer us on the day that we call.

Mid-Season

Hi ya'll! I've missed everyone. ; )

This weekend was my tennis team's mid-season in Little Rock. So fun!
Bobby (our coach), Mary Lauren, Natalie, me, Carrie, Christi, Caroline, & Cindy

We have a few more players, but not everyone could make it.
Friday we had a lot of rain delays. My partner Mary Lauren and I played one set outside then a few hours later played another set on an indoor tennis court. It was crazy.
Thankfully Saturday was beautiful!
Celia (on the left) joined us yesterday. I love these girls! So proud of them. They are so sweet and funny. I've only had 5 to 6 hours of sleep the past few nights, but it's totally worth it! Loved every minute. It will probably take me until Thursday to catch up on sleep. ; )

Hope ya'll are having a great weekend!

You crown the year with Your goodness; Your ways overflow with plenty.

Does it get any sweeter?
I have continued to extend faithful love to you.

Wrecked

Yesterday I was in a little fender bender. I'm very thankful for three things:

1. No one was hurt.
2. The boys were not with me.
3. It wasn't my fault.

Zach and Colson were at Kids' Day Out, and I had had a wonderful productive morning. With two more hours until I needed to pick them up I was driving along thinking what a great day it was and then WHAM!!! this poor little college guy rear-ended me. Bless his heart.
He was so nice, and Jason came to help, too. Everything worked out, and I still had extra time before I got the boys. Just a reminder that cars are just "stuff!" Even though it still stinks. ; )

Goodness me. One of our babysitters says this a lot with our boys, so I've started saying it, too. Ha!

Anyway, I guess it matches this little scratch on my back bumper.

This happened a while ago (I backed into a street sign), and I think Jason is just letting me live with it as a reminder to be more observant. ; )

Ya'll be careful out there!

...his heart is confident, trusting in the LORD.

Soccer camp

Yesterday morning Zach had soccer camp. It was so windy!
When we got there I asked him what the rules were. He said, "No pushing, no shoving, no hitting, no pushing."
G-Daddy & Gran surprised Zach. He loved having them there. ; )
So proud of our sweet boy

Last night we ordered pizza and played at our house. Z loved driving Westin around in his little jeep. He likes bossing around taking care of the younger cousins! It's cute.
Gran with all of her grandkids. ; )

Hope ya'll had a great weekend!

I will help you speak and I will teach you what to say.

21 Months

Happy 21 months, sweet boy!

Right now you are the same age Zach was when your big sister was born. My heart is aching, but you always bring a smile to my face. I love you so much.
A few things about you right now...
You are saying all sorts of things and copying our words. It still takes me by surprise.

Please is "Meese, meese."
You HATE having your fingernails and toenails cut. The few times I've done it (this is Jason's territory!), it takes 15 minutes and I'm sweating from having to pin you down.
You love to eat! I'm not used to this because Zach's never been a big eater, but I'm learning to be more prepared for you. ; )
After you eat you bring your plate to the sink because you've watched Zach do it. It's pretty scary sometimes, but so cute!
You laugh and smile all the time, and when you're cranky it's easy to make you happy again. ; )

I can't believe you're almost two!

The course of my life is in Your power...

More Zisms

Zach is becoming such a little man. He keeps us laughing, and I just love his heart.

Here are a few more things he's said lately...

If I've had a long day with him he'll say, "Stop bothering me, Mommy. Bother Colson."

"Mom, we have a big problem here."
"Mom, I want to jump in the mud like Peppa Pig."

"I haven't bled like this yet this week."
"Mom, we're gonna have another bedtime soon. "
Not quite sure what this one means!

"Mommy, I'm older than Colson and you're older than me and Colson is younger than I am and you're older than Colson, right?"

Happy Thursday!

Whoever does not welcome the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.

Dallas

It was such a treat to spend a few days in Dallas last week. Spending time with my sister, mom, and some of my closest friends always does my heart good! I loved having Zach all to myself, too.
 My mom & sis

I shared Reese's story at Mandy's MOPS group one morning. Everyone was so sweet and made me feel right at home.

Mandy had texted me earlier in the week to tell me she was introducing me and that she already had ulcers over it. I just had to laugh. ; ) I know that sounds terrible! Love you, sis!

She did a great job and had me choked up before I even began to speak. She's amazing.
Meredith, Ashley, and Laura came to cheer me on. ; )
Rebekah and baby Mitchell met us for lunch. He is 9 weeks old and so sweet. ; )
Zach was attached to Abby the entire time as usual, and I love watching them together. She only had to take 4 "breaks" from him. ; )

...none can compare with You.

Easter 2012

Happy Easter!
Yesterday Zach and I went to a helicopter egg drop. So much fun!
I don't think you ever outgrow egg hunts. I love them!

My handsome men before church
I worked in our nursery so it was jeans and a t-shirt for me. ; )
Sweet boy
Does it get any better?
This is real life at our house. Don't worry, Colson caught himself. ; ) It was close!
We had lunch at our house with Jason's family. I was so excited to use my grandmother's linen placemats and napkins. We ate honeybaked ham, mashed potatoes, baked beans, salad, fruit, rolls, and chocolate cake for dessert. Everyone brought something. Delicious!
A little fun in the sun this afternoon
Westin, Colson, Zach, and friends Aaron and Teejay
(Don't worry this is just for the picture!)
It looked like Thanksgiving happened again. ; )

In Beth Moore's James study I read something that describes Easter perfectly. "The power of the resurrection means that nothing but the tomb is meant to be empty."

I pray you know the only One who can fill your empty heart!

I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

Reagan Lynn

Happy birthday, Reagan! We love you so much.

My sweet niece was born Wednesday morning. Zach was so gentle with her.
Reagan gave Zach, Reese and Colson some cookies. Delicious!
Z ate his before I could snap a picture. ; )
After we loved on Reagan Z and I took a little road trip to Dallas. We've been traveling a lot lately! It was a fun few days, and I'll share about it soon.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend. We have a risen Savior!

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father...
