Caroline

I met Caroline my freshman year at Baylor. She was in a swimming class with Hillary, and I will never forget the first time I met her in my dorm room. She is hilarious, creative, loves life and people. She has such a sensitive heart.

She has told me for awhile that I need to do a tribute to Baylor on my blog, and I have been telling her she needs to start a blog and do her own tribute. ; ) I really just want her to start a blog because I know she would be a comic relief in so many people's lives!

So this post is in her honor. Love you, girl!

Story with this pic...this was taken in front of the "gift/message" board on the first floor of our dorm. If you look close enough you can see our names on the board. We wrote them there because we (and everyone else) loved looking up on the board every day to see if they had received anything. Anyway, Caroline lived on the sixth floor and I lived on the first floor, so after I met her I thought it would be funny to call her room and act like the RA at the front desk to tell her that she had received a gift and to come down to get it. Hillary and I would then go hide in the front lobby to wait and watch. Caroline would walk down six flights of stairs to get her "gift" that was never there. The RA would say that there must have been some mistake. Oh, this was so incredibly funny! We did this a few times before she figured out it must be some sort of joke. Caroline was a good sport when she found out it was us. It was great! Definitely one of my favorite memories with her.

Caroline and I were in the same Tri Delt pledge class, and this pic was taken at our fall retreat. It was a great time to stay up most of the night and eat junk food! My dad also spoke at one of my retreats before we had a worship time. A very special memory.

In this pic we are in our SING costumes for the Wizard of Oz theme Emerald City. SING is a performance at Baylor where fraternities and sororities and other campus groups do different sing and dance acts. Caroline would always say, "Rip your pants!" before each performance. We won our senior year with this act!

Caroline and I also were roommates at Westminster Abbey in London. I LOVED everything about Europe and would go back tomorrow if I could. We went with a group from BU during the summer and were able to go to the British Open and Tour de France. What great memories!

It does not seem like we graduated six years ago, and I'm so thankful our friendship has lasted through the years. It's a honor to be her friend!

Zach's New Bud

This is Emily's baby Hudson, and also Zach's friend. They were born about one week apart, and I am so glad they like their jogging strollers. I would be in trouble if Zach didn't like his!

Zach was all over the place while we were trying to take their picture, and Hudson just looked at him like he was crazy! Zach even tried to pull his hair a few times. Not good, but for the most part he behaved himself. ; )

Blessed

I have waited since before Zach was born for him to be big enough to wear his "Blessed" onesie! I love it! You can't really see it well, but there is a brown cross on the front with the word Blessed underneath it.

He makes me laugh in these pictures because he is so serious!

Sunny Days

This week we had some fun with friends in the pool. Zach splashes around like a little fish!

Talk About Amazing

**Sorry if you had problems with this video! If you google his name, you will find more than enough info about his life and testimony.
A friend sent me this video link about Nick Vujicic, who was born with no arms or legs. What an awesome testimony he has for Jesus!

It's All About Riley

Riley likes to be the center of attention. It's obvious to everyone who knows her. Alot of people were worried about how she would react when we brought Zach home. She has done so well, although she has definitely had her pitiful moments. Riley is still very much a part of our family and is great entertainment for Zach (yea!), but I have been lacking in the toy department for her. So much so that she began to play with leaves and sticks in the backyard! I know...so sad. The other day, I bought another chicken and alot of toys, so Riley is a happy dog.

Zach is looking like he wants to play with her toys.

Riley doesn't play with Zach's toys, so she doesn't want Zach to mess with hers!

Happy Anniversary!

Today Jason and I have been married for six years. Wow! I can't believe I'm old enough to be married that long! Who knew six years ago we would have a beautiful seventh month old son?

Ten Things I Love About Jason

1. I have never doubted his love for me.

2. He makes me laugh.

3. We have alot of the same goals and dreams.

4. He is an amazing Dad. I love watching him with Zach.

5. I love his business smarts. I have learned alot from him.

6. He supports me.

7. He loves spending time with Zach and me.

8. He has a giving and sensitive heart.

9. He is confident.

10. He is handsome!

These are just a few things I love about my husband. GOD has taught us so much in our six years of marriage, and we still have so much to learn. Thank goodness His faithfulness and grace is never ending!

2. Meredith, my sister in law - She just had her third baby and juggles everything so well! She is also a pharmacist and knows all the answers to my medical questions.
3. Shannon, my sister in law - Shannon and I laugh at alot the same things. She is creative and makes her home warm and inviting to everyone.
4. Ashley, one of my BU roommates - Ash is beautiful inside and out. She is humble, loves to laugh, and is just as loud as I am!
5. Hillary, one of my HS best friends and BU freshman roommate - Hil has seen the best of me and the worst of me and loves me anyway. She is a prayer warrior, and her faith challenges me.

More Favorite Things

My week finished off as good as it began! Don't you just love those weeks? Thursday morning Zach and I met Emily and her baby Hudson to walk at a local park. I met Emily a few years ago, and she just the sweetest thing. Hudson is one week older than Zach. I didn't get a pic of them, but I'll do it next time!
Thursday for lunch I met two amazing women Ila and Summer who I used to work with. We had too much fun working together. The LORD brought them into my life at the perfect time. I just laugh and laugh whenever I am with them.

Ila, Summer, & me

Summer has a precious dog named Jack. Zach loved him! He is so used to Riley that he didn't quite know what this little furry creature was about! He tried to "pet" him a few times, but pinched his skin in the process. Jack was a trooper!

Friday morning I met Stacy to run on a local trail. I am so thankful Zach likes the jogging stroller. I would be in trouble if he didn't! Stacy has been so faithful in meeting me to run over the past few years. Since she is such a fast runner, this always encourages me to pick up my speed! When I was pregnant, I couldn't run so she would walk with me instead. We've also trained and run a half marathon together along with our husbands and two other couples from our church.
Last night we went to a baseball game with some friends. The weather was great!

Bunco BBQ

Last night we went to a neighborhood BBQ to say goodbye to a sweet family who are moving soon. I LOVE neighborhood parties, so I was excited all day about it. Zach was the youngest kiddo there, but he was entertained watching all the other kids.

My bunco group

I started playing bunco in January with ladies from my neighborhood. They were a blessing to me from the beginning because (a) it was dark and winter, (b) it was nice to get out of the house, and (c) they are just a fun bunch of ladies! I only knew a few of them, but I decided to step out of my comfort zone, and I'm so glad I did.

Favorite Things

It's only Wednesday night, and my week has been filled with some of my favorite things! Monday afternoon, Zach and I popped in to see Hillary. She was busy working, but took time out for us as always! Thankfully, she works close to my house, so it's convenient to stop in, and I want to see her as much as I can because she's getting married and moving in three months!! But we're not going to talk about it yet...

Zach taking a snooze

Monday night I talked Jason into taking a family trip to Sam's. We love Sam's and used to go just to walk around when we were dating. Ahhhh...so after two hours and two carts full, Zach was still being wonderful and entertaining everyone who walked by us. Why two carts!? Jason is trying to get me to go to Sam's once a month instead of going to the grocery one hundred times a week to get little thing.

This is a great idea because I hate going grocery shopping. It's working so far because I've only been to the neighborhood market twice this week. Ha! Sam's doesn't have everything, right!?

Tuesday morning I took Zach to the library's little sing-a-long for little kiddos. I know he's just a baby, but he loved it! He just wiggled and watched all the kids doing their motions and jumping around. He loves listening to music, too. I don't have a pic of this though...

I also bought him a baby pool, so we'll be trying it out soon!

Last night, five of us girls started the Beth Moore summer Bible study. Shannon, Hillary, and I are in the pic above and Elizabeth and Shannon in the pic below. I am really excited about this study of "No Other Gods."

I have been staying up so late the past few weeks, so after I watched Jon and Kate Plus Eight (love it!) with Shannon and Cody, I called my friend Laura on my way home at 10:45. I know, crazy, but I knew she would be up and she was. So, I loved catching up with her. It reminds me of my high school days when I would call a friend because I was up late working on homework, and I wanted someone to be up with me!

Today I was given my first blog award. This made my day! Thanks, Robyn! There are rules to passing this on, and I would like to think about to whom I want to pass this award. Stay tuned!

Another favorite thing is my little brown baby and his brown shirt. I LOVE the color brown, and Zach's belly is just too cute hanging out over his jeans.

Happy Father's Day!

A big shout out to my dad and Jason, who are BOTH wonderful fathers and true men of GOD. I can't believe I have two men in my life who love me so incredibly much. I would be lost without them. Thank you, and I love you both!!

This afternoon we took Zach to the pool. Here he is ready to go!

Jason (yes, he buzzed his hair...actually, I did it!) and Zach

Zach splashed and splashed.

He doesn't care that his face gets all wet.
