Friends and a Snake

Whew!!! What a week! I am just now sitting down to complete my Easter weekend...

Saturday one of my lifelong friends Suzanne brought lunch to my parents' house for Laura and me. Yum! She cuddled with Zach, and he loved it! They are both cuddlers at heart. I have known Suzanne for about 22 years, and she knows me to the core. She is one of the most encouraging people I know.

I became close friends with Laura in junior high. She is the level headed one in our friendship! My sis used to say we shared a brain because we were constantly calling each other about random silly things. Laura is so faithful! Suzanne, Laura, and I all lived within a half a mile of each other in high school. These girls will always be SO close to my heart.

Zach goes green in his outfit that Jason bought him. It's organic and earth friendly! What a dad!

Ok, so here is the story about the snake. We have this crazy thing in our family that has become kind of a tradition in a very strange way. While I was growing up, my dad would put random things in my room or somewhere in the house where he knew I would find it. Just to be silly. Well, we still do this today. The snake actually came from Jason's grandmother when she was trying to scare us one time. SO...this past weekend I put this snake in my parents bed. My dad is terrified of snakes, so I thought this would be hilarious. He's a good sport, right? It probably would have been but something else about my dad is that his sleep is precious to him. He went to bed late this night because we watched the basketball games, so the snake and late hour did not go well together. I think the neighbors heard him yell. Sorry, Dad, but Jason and I are still laughing. It was great! I know he'll get me back somehow when I least expect it...

Our Little Easter Egg

Last year around this time Jason and I found out we were pregnant. We called Zach our little Easter egg because we saw him on an ultrasound when he was just an egg. It's amazing what can happen in one year!

What a Week!

It's been a wonderful and full week, and the weekend just began!

However, a bit of bad news first...my camera fell out of my car, and I drove over it accidentally! Oops. My husband - the sweet, merciful, forgiving man that he is - surprised me with another one tonight, I'm about to check it out. THANK YOU, hubby!!

On to other exciting things of the week.

1. My husband has joined us! I have missed him all week.

2. I went to Community Bible study with my parents and had the honor of watching them lead (or moderate) their group. They did an amazing job, and I am SO proud of them. GOD is using them in exciting ways, and it's awesome to watch!

3. My mom and I shopped for Zach this week and found some cute clothes. I especially love his Easter outfit and his baby dedication outfit!

4. I know you've all been waiting to hear...the cinnamon bread was a success! My mom made it
today for me. Go mom!

5. One of my best friend's Laura, Zach, I went to see Jenny, Todd, and Benjamin today again. Benjamin and Zach hit it off! Zach talked Benjamin's ears off. He didn't even give Benjamin a chance to respond...oh well, maybe Benjamin will talk back when he gets alittle older.

6. Laura and I got our first spring pedicures! I always get a French pedicure because I love the clean look. I'll get a color sometime this summer...

7. SLEEP. SLEEP. SLEEP. This week my mom slept with the monitor in her room and helped with Zach. THANKS, mom. I have slept so well these past four nights.

8. It's Good Friday. Tonight I went with my parents to their church's Good Friday service. Wow.  What a great time for me to worship and refocus. How can it get any better than this!?

I hope all of you had a blessed Good Friday!!

Zach's Best Friend

I met Zach's best friend! His name is Benjamin John, and he is so precious. Zach hasn't met him yet but will soon! Benjamin's mom is my longest friend and one of my best friends in the whole world. Her name is Jenny Bunch, and we have been friends since we were four years old. I can honestly say we have never had one fight or gotten sick of each other. Our friendship worked so well in the beginning because I told her what to do and she would do it! Hopefully, I have changed, but who knows? Jenny has always kept my secrets, read my mind, and still makes me laugh until my stomach hurts and all of my problems are erased. I am proud of you, Jenny, and I love Benjamin!

A Grand Time with the Grands!

Hope for This Friendship Bread!?

I have been so excited about this friendship bread that Shannon gave me one week ago. It's the kind you mush mush mush on certain days and then add flour, sugar, and milk on another and then finally on day ten you bake your bread and divide to pass on to other friends. So...when the big day arrived I did everything right except one thing. I can completely blame this on my husband, but since he did go the store for me to pick up an ingredient I will fully take half of the responsibility. I had to leave before the bread was ready from the oven, so I left it up to my husband to take out the bread. Well...the loaves weren't in the oven long enough, so we have two doughy loaves of cinnamon friendship bread.

There is hope, though, just like there is hope in your friendships even when they get alittle "doughy"! I will just try again on day ten. Stay tuned!!

Third Annual Easter Egg Dying

Tonight some girls from our small group at church dyed Easter eggs! So much fun! We have done this for three years at my sister in law Shannon's house. Everyone has favorite colors for the eggs...it's become an art!

Shannon had everything set up for us.

Yum!

Zach is not so sure about all of this...he looks like an Easter egg himself!

A Correction upon the Correction

Thank you, Hillary, for such a sweet welcome! I must correct you though on how our friendship began...one of the girls invited herself and all of us over to your house! I know you are just too sweet to post it! Ha!

Happy Spring!

It's almost spring, and what better time for new beginnings? A few of my closest friends and my sis in law Shannon have blogs that I love to read, so I thought, "Why not!?" At least it's a great way for friends and family to see my precious son Zach grow up a bit.

Is he cute or what!?

THANK YOU, Hillary! She helped me set this up yesterday afternoon. What a love.
My favorite things about spring are long sunny days, cookouts, flowers, Easter, spring cleaning, and being outside in the warm weather! What are your favorite things about spring!?
